Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Wow, I totally forgot about this thread. Thanks! Well, if you tickle Ebay's balls for long enough, they usually let you take it on the chin.

Is not having a FG bike any protection from eventually being called a jackass?

this thread is my new favorite of all time. it's an epic battle of stupid versus stupid versus meta-mega-hyper-stupid. SO GOOD!

and btw, friction shifters are the new fixed gear.

I stand by the original premise for this thread. IMO there aint no harm in some lighthearted fun at the expense of jackassed fgg bikes (as seen in posts on page 1 of this thread) as long as it doesnt cross a certain hard to define line that was definitely gone over by page 3. People have to be ready for a zingin when they put up anything of theirs on the web.

Is there any point in posting bikes with platform pedals and
no brakes at this point? I think this is a FGG cliche, by now.

In any event, check out this one:

clearly not platforms but a pretty funny bike anyway... especially if the owner has a torso at all.
-frame way to small.
-saddle to bar drop absurd.
-instant impotence seatpost angle.
-ultra lightweight hubs radially laced to ultra heavy rims.
-strapless road cage pedals(a stupid idea no matter what)
-no brakes on top of that.
