Shoes for clips
More people here use toeclips and straps than
any other forum (with the possible exception of the classic
vintage forum), so this is SS/FIXIE appropriate.
what shoes are you using with toeclips/straps?
and do you use old style clips if you are using
leather cycling shoes.
Thanks,
Marty

I looked for a shoe with a slim toe and minimal tread for ease of removal. I found Addidas super sambas to work very well. I think a bunch of people here rock Addidas.

I bought a pair of brown leather New Balances specifically for riding. I prefer NB's when it comes to sneakers, and I like to use my bike for getting around, so I do a lot of hopping on and off. Good to be comfortable.

while by no means stiff, i love oldskool vans - no shoelaces to worry 'bout. slim profile, too.

Somebody recommended Palladium shoes to me a couple of weeks ago. I bought a pair off of eBay for $14 and love them. They are nice walking shoes with a rather stiff sole, and feel great on my fixie.

shoes with a smooth / 1 piece toe-box works well for me. on other pairs, the seperate side flaps (with lacing holes) tends to jam against the straps when i kick in

I used a pair of those Adidas driving shoes (they're named after the European car races). They're like walking shoes almost, but more stylish. Worked perfectly with toe-clips and straps.

I've got an old pair of vittorias with slotted cleats. Recently scored some of those duegis from nashbar for twenty bucks, including cleats, great deal.
Not sure what you mean by old style clips though...
