My Cannondale Build. How can I get more logos on this thing!
Finally finished the build on my 2006 Cannondale CAAD8. It's a very nice, solid bike. Very impressed with the ride compared to my other bike. Also very impressed with the quality of all the Ultegra parts. I think I have almost every Ultegra part available. Everyone complains about Cannondales being so flashy with the logos all over. Honestly I was hoping it would be a little bit more loud. I love the bikes full of logos. I just need to save up for some deep carbon wheels that plaster names all over them.
I am still dialing in the fit but it seems pretty close so far. It's also so different with no computer on there. Not sure what I am going to get yet but I keep looking for a screen on the stem.
I also roughly weighed the bike. (Me on the scale with the bike) minus (just me on the scale) = 18.6lbs. Not to bad for not getting any real weight weenie parts.
Here's the build:
*Frame: 2006 Cannondale CAAD8 Size 56cm
*Fork: Cannondale Slice Premium w/ carbon steerer
*Shifters: Shimano Ultegra Double
*Front Derailleur: Shimano Ultegra Braze on with 34.9 Clamp On Adapter
*Rear Derailleur: Shimano Ultegra Short Cage
*Brakes: Shimano Ultegra
*Crank: Shimano Ultegra 172.5mm 53/39 Double
*Pedals: Shimano Ultegra PD-6620
*Bottom Bracket: Shimano Ultegra English Threads
*Cassette: Shimano Ultegra 12-25
*Chain: Shimano Ultegra
*Stem: FSA OS-190 Stem
*Bars: Reynolds Ouzo Race Al Road Bar 44cm c-c
*Bar Tape: Cinelli Cork Ribbon Black
*Seatpost: Thomson Masterpiece Black 27.2 x 330 Zero Setback
*Saddle: Fizik Arione
*Wheels: Mavic Open Pro/Shimano Ultegra
*Tires: Michelin Krylion Carbon 700x23c Black/Grey
*Cages: Tacx Tao

Needs some deep carbon wheels- or even better a rear disc

i jam my thumbs up and back into the tubes. this way i can point my fingers straight out in front to split the wind and attain an even more aero profile, and the usual fixed gear - zen - connectedness feeling through the drivetrain is multiplied ten fold because my thumbs become one with the tubing.

Flip it (obligatory post)
As for stickers, you could go "roll call" like kids who mod their Hondas and obtain or make small stickers for every brand of part on your bike and clothing (Thomson, FSA, Mavic, Shimano, Fizik, definitely Sidi if you have 'em). Definitely +1 on the deep carbon rims and double up on the stickers there.

If you took those boat anchors (wheels) off and slap on some Zipp 303's for racing, you'll shave about 2 pounds LOL.
Don't worry, I currently have the same boat anchors on my bike. Not a bad training wheel, and offers a nice, cushy ride.

Nice bike... You could get some sponsor decals to put on it or get a wheelset with stickers on it...
Just like my CAAD 9...

You got plenty of room left . . . look at those bare bar tape and hood areas.

If you want it louder you could also change colors on the bar tape, tires, bottle cages and even the saddle. Might want to go one step further and mismatch the colors of these parts. I personally like the look of the frame as it is... IMHO

What you should do is speak with some music promoters to get as many stickers as possible. Cover that fscker up ... Do not stop until you've added 2lbs of vinyl and adhesive.

Logos inside the forks, chain stays and seat stays would get you six more logos. More if you double up on a couple. Also, your bottle cages do not appear to have any writing on them.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.

About a computer, I've got a Cateye Strada on the stem of my CAAD8. It's tiny enough that it's no wider than the stem itself, and I like its whole body-is-the-button thing. It looks clean, and there's enough room for a Dinotte battery pack to hang underneath (even though the stem's 90 mm long). A bit basic, but it's enough for me.
