I'll contribute, my '91 Bianchi. It was set at the curb for garbage collection...maybe that owner didn't like white bikes either? I have it on the trainer now for those rainy days but soon it will be my winter ride.

My only white bike was a well used Peugeot U08 that I bought in 1972 at UCSB. This is similar. It disappeared in Hawaii in 1978

How much "handling" do you think is needed on a rail trail? If a train could handle a particular curve, then it isn't too difficult for a bicycle. Any bicycle.

Falcon purchased new in 1986 at an LBS in Cambridge, UK. Slightly updated with new wheels - Mavic OP on Chorus hubs and expanded from a 6sp freewheel to 9sp cassette. Original paint. Reynolds 531c lugged tubing. "Competitor, Triathalon" model more marketing that design as normal road geometry. Originally had blue sweade seat and bar tape - for the wet transition from swim to bike.

There was no hate. I was laughing as I typed "How much handling do you think is needed on a rail trail." I almost never take a turn at any speed. I ride across our subdivision to get to the trail, but every turn is at a stop sign. I honestly can't remember the last time I took a turn at as much as 10 mph.
Of course, if I had a white bike, even if nothing else was changed, it would be faster and have better handling.
The pic of my Trek was outdated the date after I took it. I lowered the adjustable stem one notch (10 degrees) and moved the bar ends forward a couple of inches. The side angle of that picture makes it look like the handlebars are higher than they are ... they are sitting, naturally, at the base of the black bar ends.
