Got mine in the mail today. I have toe out issues and also 13EEEE feet. For the most part, my right foot is usually only about half on the pedal and the left about 3/4's. I put the kneesavers on tonight and, just sitting on the bike, it looks like my feet will both be totally on the pedals and it will take some of the stress off my ankles and feet. I will try them on my commute tomorrow and follow up.

They are expensive but very solidly machined. I have a little concern about the extra stress they might put on the cranks do to the force being further out but I don't ride out of the saddle hardly at all anyway. The KneeSavers themselves are not going to break, I am pretty sure. They are that solid. If they allow me to have my feet on the pedals, it will be well worth it.

Interesting. I have toe out problems, but its never caused knee pain. It may be part of the problem for my numb feet though, not sure.

I have never had knee problems either. Mine is all ankle and foot as my right foot is half off the pedal and angles down on the outside a lot as I pedal hard.

If I tried to force my foot into a position where it was on the pedal without them, I imagine it would put a lot of bad stress on my knee.

i have to pay attention to my pedaling. see if this is something i need to look into.

These are often used on 'bents. So far I haven't had any knee issues, though cleat position took a bit of experimentation to get the right lateral, fore-aft, and rotational position. I have ample float and no crank arm clearance problems, fortunately.

I have big feet, but no knee problems yet. I'm wondering how moving the pedals out helps big feet?

If you don't have a toe out condition, I am not sure if it would do much for big feet. With a toe out condition, though, the chainstays can be an issue for my heel if I let my feet go to their natural angle and have the ball on the pedal.

Road them on my commute to work today. My right foot is now about 90% on the pedal and my left 100%.

8.5 mile commute one way that I usually average 12.5 to 12.8 mph and once did 13.2 mph as my best average speed. I did 13.8mph average speed today. No ankle or foot soreness either. It maybe helps to be able to have your feet actually on the pedals. lol

It may be a product that would only help a portion of cyclists who have a pretty apparent toe out problem but I am keeping them on the bike.

They were the ticket on my recumbent .My legs were angled inward to the pedals and was killing my knees. I,am also thinking about putting them on all my bikes.

After 2 days, my right foot no longer feels like it constantly has a mild sprain. I was beginning to worry that the extra miles I am doing because of the commute was going to do me in.

I am going to have to get a pair for the Schwinn eventually, I think. I don't put enough miles on it to worry much about foot pain but I like the extra force I can apply now.

I use them on 3 bikes. I tend to ride a little too "toe out" and my right heel skins the crank if I don't use them. No problems ... but they are a little pricey for a little chunk of metal.

Yeah, they aren't cheap and I was hesitant to buy them. But for the problems it fixed for me, I would have paid more.

yES INDEED I use them.

the reason I ordered them was Because I wear Large Lake sandals .

The sandals are very wide and I could not release from my pedals anytime I needed too, only in certain spots on the rotation where my Toe Box didnt hit the crank arm.

The knee savers solved the problem, also its a bit cooler riding with My legs a bit further apart.

As for pedaling out of the saddle, I do it plenty and I have yet to break anything. I had a nice chat with the gent at Knee saver and with all the pairs hes sold I believe he only had 2 come back.

They look a bit ODD and they get wierd looks(esp when Roadies looks at them) but they solved a problem for me so They stay on!

i just move my speedplay cleats to the side a bit, maybe this is a better solution

Depends upon how much movement you need, I imagine. It took over an inch of movement to help my issues.

Wald sells their version for $14 a pair if you want to try them out, go to your lbs, ask for the Wald Catalog (They will have one) and look for pedal extenders.

I have a pair, 100+ miles on them now, including a metric, and I'm planning on ordering two more sets.

I knew mine was bad enough that I would need the longest set. My foot was more than an inch off the side of the pedal. I am not sure how you would know otherwise.

I have never heard of those but I will look out for them. I will need a pair for the Schwinn.

Both my feet were off 3/4" to 1", The wald extenders fixed the problem.
