Rear LED light comparison pictures
Here is a comparison of the relative intensity of some rear lights
Couldn't get them all lined up perfectly.
Top = Dinotte Tail light (4x1.5v AA)
Middle = BLT Super Doppler DX or S-Sun 120R (3 x 1.5v AAA)
Lower = Planet Bike Super Flash (2 x 1.5v AAA)

Bikes: MTB Peugoet Canyon (forgot the model), Nikishi? roadbike, MTB custom build,
For those with the Dinotte tail light can you take a 10meter, 20meter, and 30 meter photo? Say at a school at night shining the Dinotte at the wall at those 3 distances then I would like to see one of the bike at said distances.
Thanks. No need for the strobe mode. I know how that looks already.

I don't have the BLT Super Doppler, but do have 2 Planet bike Super flash. I agree that the Dinotte will wipe the super flash out. I'm not to sure about the BLT super Doppler? I haven't seen it in action. Only a few pics here and a short video. I will say that the Planet Bike Super flash is one bright tail light! I used it for 6 months then made the leap for Dinotte. The Super flash doesn't come close in brightest compared to the Dinotte.

I would do it, but we need someone with a better camera then mine. My camera is only 3 mega pixels and 6 years old. I guess I'm buying to many bike lights.
To afford a new camera. Oh wait you can never have to many bike lights!

one's $130 and requires a battery pack to be mounted separately, and the other one's $30 and is compact enough to clip on a saddle bag or jerseys pocket. do the words apples and oranges ring a bell?

It does show light to the sides, The side lighting is not even close to the brightness of a Cateye tl-ld 1000 or the Planet bike super flash. The Dinotte throws a bright beam of light onto the road. That has to add to it's side visibility? Not to sure about the effectiveness of a beam bouncing off the road is. This why I still use a cateye 1000 for side visiblity.
This pic is just 2' feet back from my last pic.

I will say Planet Bike makes one hell of a bright tail light, but not as bright as the Dinotte tail light. I was lucky enough to have the extra cash at the time of purchase for the Dinotte or I would still be running 2 PB and Cateye 1000.
The PB super flash on the same wall at 25' with fresh Lithium batteries.

Bikes: Too many to list comfortably
Here's my own particular setup:

Cateye 25000 mcd blinky (I'll be getting the 50000 mcd one too soon)

Down the house...

About 20 feet from the house next door or so.
This light works pretty well although I have to admit it's not as bright as some others.
Their 50000 mcd light in combination with this one ought to work pretty well - I'm a
firm believer in ganging different lights together so there's some redundancy.
I like that Dinotte but so far the taillights I've gotten have been freebies more or
less - people give me small gift certificates to the bike shop for my birthday and I
generally use it to get new commuter gear so people can see me.
Here's a youtube video of this taillight in combination with my HID headlight:

It's the brightest taillight in the middle of the video - I did a multiple
headlight, multiple taillight comparison.
