Since the other threads are getting very hard to navigate, we need to have a thread just for completed builds of the group buy Pedal Force RS frames. I know that I have asked the same people more than once to post pictures of their bikes. A nice description of what you were trying to accomplish and some impressions from your first rides would be nice too. This thread is not intended to supplant your own build thread. I really love seeing works in progress. It would be nice to have complete bikes pictured in one spot so everyone can benefit.

I will start by posting pictures of Bittersweet and my RS.

Bittersweet RS

Our goal was to get a better fitting bike for Bittersweet, without breaking the bank. Although we have had a lot of fun with the Motobecane LeChampion SL, the geometry just wasn't quite right. Although a 49cm frame the top tube was way too long for her short torso, the RS is a much better fit. So stripping the LeChampion and swapping out the crankset for a Shimano FC-R700 Compact was what we decided to do. Here are the final results.

What I wanted was a top end bike without the top end price. Not having to add $1000 more for the frame allowed me to buy some really nice wheels to go along with this bike. Here is how I ended up where it is now. Bought a BD Mercier Draco, all Dura-Ace. Stripped it and put the parts in a box. Ordered a set of wheels from Troy Watson at Ligero, bought a second set from Chucks Bikes. Ordered some lightweight parts, replaced a few bolts with Ti or Al where appropriate and the result was what you see here. It is 14.81# with the Ligero wheels, bottle cages, pedals, Edge hardware (sans Edge 305 itself). With the Gigantex wheels it sits at 15.69# (both heavier wheels and tires).

Im not much for the all black look, but it is a good lookin machine.

Wacky Willy's Pedal Force Plastique Fantastique

- repost of pic in original RS thread of my ss/fixie (driveway was in shade at time of pic, otherwise i would have used the obligatory garage door)... i love this bike and it's quite a comfortable ride...

- i did find that the top bearing of the shorty IS-2 Cane Creek headset sits a touch high in the upper headtube, but this ended up being a nice feature, obviating the need for multiple 'shim washers'...

- also, contrary to other postings, i have found the ID14 fork to be quite adequate for my beefy physique... cutting the fork carbon tube was a snap, accomplished in eight forward strokes with a brand new 32TPI hacksaw blade from Homeless Despot while the fork was clamped into my Park SG-6 saw guide...

- other parts were scavenged from my two-speed Specialized Allez conversion (see sig linky)...

- i was initially worried about the potential frameset appearance when i ordered 'with logos,' but as you can see, PF wisely chose to use diminutive artwork only on the headtube and tops of the fork, and not the obscenely grotesque layouts favored by most discount bike shops...

- i plan to put at least 3,000 miles on this bike before adding on some 9spd DA bling gear i have stashed away:

Hammertoe's Record RS

Well here it is...Kind of bittersweet...All that waiting and collecting parts...Now it's time for another project...

Changed the stem from FSA 115 110mm to Pazzaz 100mm...I find the bike to be very comfortable in the drops...

Total weight with 2 cages, pedals, and Garmin mount...15.7 lbs...

I got frustrated during the build...Campagnolo has its quirks...I cut the first cable too short...Then left the rest a little long...Bar wrap was not my best...

The most interesting thing I have found on my roller rides is how strange it seems not to have cables in the 'windshield'...I can see without obstruction...

Now I have to wait for the snow to melt...

Sorry about the lack of white garage door...We do not have a garage...

I had a chance to ride mine today, and I'm very pleased. The fit of the 61cm RS is much better than my 58cm Flyte, which was my main reason for buying it.

The first thing I noticed was how stable it seems compared to my Flyte. I'm using a 100mm stem with 42 cm bars because of my short torso, which made my Flyte feel a bit quick in the steering department, but it works fine on the RS.

The 6.5 mile climb into town seemed to take forever today(30-40 mph headwinds), but it gave me a good chance to get out of the saddle and mash on the pedals. The frame laughed at my puny power output.

The ride home was a high speed descent(48mph max)for about 4 miles and then about 2.5 miles of chipseal at speeds up to 40. My old Flyte would have rattled my teeth out at that speed, but the RS was very comfy.

So after my short test ride, I'd give it an A, pending any major quirks that pop-up next week when I get to put in some real saddle time.

Ha...That's the OUTSIDE of my house...Rough sawn hemlock siding...south facing stained cedar deck that needs to be re-stained...want to come help stain a house and a deck...

That, and the fact it's too ******** cold for me to ever consider living in Vermont...

blandin made the red accent work a lot better than I thought it would though I think he made a good call staying away from red tires.

WW did well with the deep rims but I think they scream for colored (can you say colored these days? maybe I should say minority instead) tires. I would like to see a carbon crank on it too.

Mine won't be ready for a month but I think I will be in the mix at the end of the day. I bought all-black and silver TACX bottle cages...not sure which to go with. I will top mine off with a frame decal that says "The Force" since it will be a Pedal FORCE frame, FSA K-FORCE stem and K-Force crank...might even get the SRAM Force brifters. The Force will definitely be with me.
