For the PF QS2-S Owners...
Now that we are approaching the end of the cycling season, or at least the tapering off for winter, can you tell me your honest impressions of the QS2-S frameset. Is there anything you would do differently on your builds? Is there something about the frameset that you expecially like? Is there some aspect of the frame you wish were different?
Any thoughts would be welcome, and updated photos of your rides would be nice also. Thanks in advance.

Robin LOVES hers. (her's didn't come from Pedal Force, but is the same frame) The bike built up stupid light and is stiffer than anything else she's ridden. Since putting a Toupe seat and a different set of wheels on it, the weight is about 15.7lbs now. We threw my Zipps on there for $hits and giggles and it weighed 14.5 lbs Those are some nice frames for sure. Makes my Tarmac jealous

I dont know that there are that many S frames out there. I tried to order an S from Ming and they didnt have any.
I've got a Fusion kit ordered with a projected ship date of Oct 5th. I've got a century planned for the end of October and I'm planning to do it on the Fusion provided I dont hate the bike once I get it built up.
Pedal Force also has a new carbon/titanium frame coming but I dont really know any of the details. According to Ming, the Fusion will continue to be their high end frame.

The frames come from ADK Technology in Taiwan and comes in several sizes.
Measured at the seat tube the sizes are; 50/53/55/58/61CM(C-T). Apparently the frame comes in two styles, a 3K and 12K weave. They differentiate each by using a tight outer cosmetic weave on the 3K and a larger weave on the 12K.
vs.
It appears that Pedal Force will not be the only ones selling this frameset. I am also told that the 12K is slightly heavier than the 3K. It also appears that there are two model designations from ADK, there is the AKFM03 and the AKFM03SL. I could not find anything that would describe the difference between the two models. Looking over ADKs product info (which is extremely limited) it does not appear that they were the supplier for the QS2 or Fusion framesets. Right now this is all I have been able to find out about the QS2-S other than what has already been posted in other threads.

The end of the cyling season? Who knew? One of my riding friends is on track to ride 365 days during 2006. I probably will end up at around 300 days. Unless you live in Montana or North Dakota, or other places where the sun does not rise between November and February, cycling is something you can enjoy twelve months of the year.
If your current bike is not designed to ride past September, consider getting another bike. You can't have too many bikes. Even a $300 cheapo mountain bike can do stuff that expensive road bikes can't.

Here in the northeast, it's not so much the temps that are particularly annoying....it's the fact that they dump 10 million pounds of sand on the roads, making it fairly dangerous to ride on. Combine that with ice and the remnants of snow here and there....and a bike trainer is a must if you plan to pedal year 'round.
The coldest I've ridden in is 11 degree standing air temps. Starts getting a bit nippy below 20-25 degrees F.

Patriot,
That paint job looks amazing! Robin is still debating if she wants to get hers painted. She's leaning towards not at this point, since it will be raced hard. Plus it looks fairly decent in the nude, with some slight sliver accents

I may be able to provide some additional information regarding the ADK frames mentioned.
AKFM03 - 12K Carbon weave and 1.25kg for medium
AKFM03SL - 3K Carbon weave and 1.05kg for medium
BTW - prices from ADK were $270 (US) in quantities of 100 or more
However, I will say that it's not clear that the ADK frame is the same as the QS2-S. The PDF
brochure they provide is VERY poor.

I actually saw a picture from PEdal Force, sent to one of our BF'ers through email showing them the new QS2-S they will be getting. The picture of the frame still had the ADK factory sticker on the downtube. So yes, that is where they are getting them from.
