Are they really going to fully ditch DCL or are they just offerring both now? Yes, I know they still offered RF shifters even with DCL but those weren't newly designed ones... just LX shifters carried over from the past. It does seem as if Shimano's flip-flop shifters have flopped.

Seeing the triggers back might mean that possibly in 2008 10-speed will infect the mtb ranks.

Is that really a bad thing though? OR would 10 speed make alot of 8 and 9 speed stuff incompatible?
If they come out with 10 speed, id probably ditch the FD and go with a 1x10 setup.

IT would most likely put a complete end to 8 speed, and 9 speed stuff would start vanishing.

Crap, I really like Dual Control. I can certainly live without 10-speed rear as well.

Considering right now I refuse to ride shimano it doesn't matter much unless sram makes the same mistakes shi!mano does

ok, they look great - i want one - but i'm getting a rockhopper comp disc (like flak and chone, thx for the pics of each colour, but i can't decide between the two) at the end of this month. when do these derailleurs come out? jan. 1 2007 or hopefully a lot sooner?
also, when does specialized release pictures of the 07 rockhoppers? if they start looking like the current p2's and hardrock pro's, i'm not getting this year's rh's.. just cuz it'll look much better next yr...

I don't ever want to go to 9 or 10 speed. I guess I will have to start buying up 8spd stuff. I hate shimano.

The xt derailleur looks good...but why on earth do they always insist on using those cheezy shift indicators?? Has ANYONE ever actually used that to determine what gear they're in?? I like the OLD xt/xtr shifters from the early 90s....small and simple

Haha has anyone seen the LandRider bike TV infomercial? The bike that shifts automatically. This one guy was like "Its great because you don't have to look down to switch the gears" LoL uhh who needs to look down in the first place.

i just saw some 07 stuff in an mba issue. the xtr looks like crap.
fox stuff looks really, really good. and a new "avid ultimate" brake system doesnt look half bad.

I stopped in at one of my favourite LBSes today in order to check out what they had in stock in terms of cyclocross bikes (I'd like one for commuting) and spied an S-Works Stumpjumper FSR Carbon built up with SRAM X-0 shifters and rear derailleur. It did have XTR disc brakes, XTR cassette and an XTR FD though. The X-0 stuff is simply beautiful... especially the shifters.

but anyway, Im thinking of waiting till Giant Ships in the new Shimano equipped Anthem, cause its stupid to buy a bike and you must upgrade its shifter in 6months and its expensive to do so

Its like the razor world, first was the one blade straght razor, then the dual blade, then the tripple. I know I have seen a 4 blade razor now... who knows i would not be supprised to see a 5!
I only use the last 4 rear cogs (the smallest 4) and my middle chain ring... What the heck would I do with yet another gear in the rear?
10 speed is really not needed, and from what I can make from above not wanted by many.
