forget kashimax, roll your own
1. go to the hardware store and buy a foot of clear, 1" tubing (cost you about a buck).
2. slice the tubing lengthwise
3. place tubing on your toptube (it'll stick by itself)
4. profit!
OR
4. take the money you saved by not buying a kashimax and spend it on beer and pie.

I used the extra wide rubber band that came with my cane creek headset. cut it, then wrapped it around a few times. then a couple loops of some electrical tape. it's been on there about a year and I think the rubber band has fused it's self together. all I know is it ain't coming off with-out leaving a mess.

But the Kashimax top tube protector is only $39.99. Can you really put a price on top tube protection? Yes you can and fortunately for all of us, Kashimax already has. You could always take some extra t-shirts that wont fit in your dresser anyways, cut them up and wrap 'em around.

i don't like cluttered top tubes. if i did ride drops--which i don't because they suck--i'd put grips on to prevent dinging. did i say that i think drops suck?
