mounting a polar hrm to the stem?
Any of you guys have a clever way to mount the polar hrm to the stem (facing the right direction)? I just got a 725x and don’t like the bar mount as I am use to my old computer mounted to the stem.

you asked about mounting to the stem, but FWIW here's what io do.
it's a simple way to put a HRM on the bike w/o a mount. learned it from a pro.
iirc there's some widget that can bought bought to mount a polar on to the stem, which i was planning on getting, until i was taught this trick.

I put my HRM on my stem, and found only a faint hearbeat.
So now I understand why my stem is cold all the time.
I think it might be dead.

Do you have a wrist/watch version or the bike mounted model? The mount that comes with the bike model can be mounted on the bars or the stem.

The new cs series lets you do this very easily.
(oops, just noticed you mentioned the 725i. Perhaps polar has a mounting system that would work like the cs series?)

I mounted my Polar 725x on my bars but the signal from the fork was very dodgy, even though Polar says it will be more consitsnt there than on my wrist. Now I just keep it on my wrist and I have never had any signal issues, either from the fork or the chest strap.
