Guess I'm not a ******. Took off the pads on the clipons on the tandem to get just a little bit lower (since the bars were as low as I could get them). Bit bruised and rather sore 40k later.

****ing hell, I should have kicked that guy out of my office. I've been working for months developing a widely used report here to track progress on some of our sub contractors. It's been worked on with a lot of input from different managers and interested parties to something that's extremely good at it's intended use. After some blowout battles to get the project back on track, I'd finally had some success with our most troublesome sub, when I got a visit from some self-important jackass engineer.
Guy came into my office and started telling me how a bunch more columns of information need to be added to my report (which he'd never even seen or looked at), and how "oh, well, I see I'm going to have to educate you." He asked to be on my distribution lists. Fine, I add him, and email him the latest issued version of my report. I start to walk him through the report explaining how it's read, and he starts making notes on *my* copy that I've been marking up with updates. At the end of the conversation, he tried to walk out with my copy. I took it from him, and told him, "No, that's *my* report. I've sent you a copy in your email." He actually quibbled about the fact I wouldn't let him have my copy of my report.
I learned later that he hadn't gotten the answers he wanted earlier from my department head (I'm in procurement), and proceeded to harass the expediter before finding me. I should have kicked him out of my office much earlier, and next time I will. Eff that guy.

I smile and joke around a bunch at work but people know don't **** with me.
I will teach you my young friend...

Geez- The guy just called me back to continue squalking about how I have to change my report. I told him there was no way in hell I was changing my reports for him, and that if he's got a problem with that he can take it up with [my boss]. Then hung up on him. Talked to my boss so he'd know what's coming, and he laughed and said that's exactly how it should have been handled.

True story (was just cracking the ladies up here):
If you call me over something stupid or talk disrepectfully to I will, no word of a lie, pull soda crackers out of my desk and start eating them while on the phone. Pisses people right off.

I'm reading the txbra forums and someone made a funny.
Clay W: I raced the 4/5 New Braunfels road race on Sunday and can’t find my name on the results. I was toward the back of the pack. Where can I find this information?
E: call the New Braunfels sheriff department. I heard they got the official result.

So during the races this weekend we had a Pro woman racer in the 3s for some reason. Not sure why she races in the 3s, but I've seen her out racing before with us. Anyways, on Saturday I got off the front with her. I'm not sure whether to be impressed or depressed that she almost dropped me off her wheel though. She has some pretty legit palmares, so I think I'll be happy I was able to hold her wheel for the 2 or 3 minutes before we got gobbled up by the group. https://www.totalcyclist.com/about-us...m_medium=email

One of the girls at the track here in Houston races for them as well. They're a development team. From their facebook: "Directed by 14x USA Elite National Track Champion Cari Higgins, TWENTY16 Junior Development Cycling Team is made up of 12 young women from across the United States. Six women will be racing in the 17/18 age group in 2013, 5 will be racing in the 15/16 age group, and 1 in the 10-12 age group."

Trying to hold the wheel of a strong gal is always a mixed bag. They either give you a good view, but a bad draft or a bad view and a good draft.

Auto gurus...Gotta an interesting one here...
My Mazda5 was not behaving nicely this morning. The idle was erratic when coming to a stop, almost stalling, and I was forced to shift it out of drive into neutral to make sure it kept running. This kept going on until I got to my wife's office, about 4 stop signs. At that point I shut the car down and went inside to kill some time (had a dentist appointment in town). When I left and started the car it was behaving the same and now the check engine light was fully on. I went to the dentist appointment and when I left there the car was the same. Called the dealer and made my way over. This drive involve a 15-20min cruise at highway speeds. Once off the highway the car was behaving normally again and the idle was fine. Check engine light was still on.
Just called the dealer and he stated they have to reset the timing. They aren't currently sure why the timing went out. The car has a timing chain, so it seems odd that it would slip a tooth.
Any ideas?
Luckily we bought the extended warranty so the work will be covered. Hopefully it's done today!

I've seen women in the men's E3 and the M123 races. I have yet to see one podium or otherwise affect the result of the race. Not saying they couldn't, just saying I haven't seen it. I get the feeling they're using them as warmups.
