lol I posted about it at the time, but can't find it. Maybe 3-4 years ago. Had to replace the rear wheel (bought a rim and laced it with the same spokes) and the bar tape. Otherwise that crosscheck is bullet proof (and apparently freeway proof). I'm just still very thankful that it flew off when I was just entering the freeway, so I was on an extra wide place way off to the right, and nobody was behind me
Friends have variously lost bikes flying off on the interstate and forgotten on entering the garage. Guessing these stories are more common than we'd like to think, given the sketchy rigs holding bikes one spots on long drives.

Cheers thanks. Yes, Rivet saddle and a Legnano-inspired repaint. The handlebar tape needs a few more miles to take the shine off it…

Does the Brooks Cambium count? It's not plastic. I have one, but I actually hate it! It's the most uncomfortable saddle I have ever owned.

I got a 1967 Wrights Swallow on Ebay for my 'new' Holdsworth Cyclone, it's in pretty good condition.
After some Proofide:
Unfortunately my *rse needs to break it in quite a bit so that's a project for this summer.
Had to switch to my all time favourite: Selle Italia Sprint.
I've only ever tried about 4 saddles but this came as standard on my new Holdsworth Avanti in 1983 and it's always just fitted for me.
Here's my newish one off Ebay again, and it looks damn fine:
Edit:
They're actually about the same dimensions: 150 x 275
But the Wrights is 500g and the Selle is 418g

I can't post pics, but I just bought today a black Selle Anatomica H2 saddle since it was on sale and my Brook Cambium saddle SUCKS. I bought that Cambium after reading all the reviews about how glorious of a saddle it was, no breaking in, comfortable right out of the box...LMAO!!! my sit bones killed me, and this saddle was on my touring bike, so day after day riding was not good. I can tolerate the Cambium saddle for a few hours so I'll just put it on another bike. I also ordered the seat cover and saddle treatment for it. Hopefully that Selle Anatomica will be a good one.

Have always like SA's comfort and hope your experience is similar. They dress up a bike nicely, too.

The cool thing about 2 sub series is you can replace the skin, the screws, and the rails yourself.

I won't be able to test ride it or break it in for another 2 maybe 3 months since where I'm at we're in a deep freeze, which is typical this time of the year, probably why all the saddles were on sale, no one is buying them. I called Selle because I'm at 180 pounds, and I thought going with the H2 rated for 250 pounds would last longer, but would it be would it be ok for comfort, and the lady said to go with the H2, it might take about 100 miles longer to break in vs the X series but the longevity would be greatly improved.

Getting all those Chicago screws back in did test my patience some. :-)

To that point, re-leathered my X2 with an H2 leather, figuring it will probably take longer to stretch to the end of its usefulness. They weighed the same and I don't find the H2 less comfortable. You probably made the right choice.

I heard getting a new skin on was a bit of headache, hopefully I won't have to do that for a long time.

That crazy Selle Anatomica saddle arrived in one day?! I ordered it on the 15th, the date of my last post about it, and I got it on the 16th using free shipping which was supposed to take 5 to 7 days to get from California to Indiana, how the heck did they do that?? The saddle came extremely fast but for some reason they didn't put the saddle cover and sauce into the same package, it has not arrived yet. Makes me wonder if the saddle was at warehouse where I live, and the other stuff is coming from California? I know they're not going to pay $25 to $69 to ship it next day air, so it had to be in a local warehouse, but the label on the bag said California. Something is weird here...besides me!

That poor old Ideale is done IMO, it may go another 10 days or years, the cracking at the front rivets is a bummer, I would work it over with some thinner dressing than Proofide and relegate it to display status, again, IMO.

This one came in but I think it is going to leave. Not anywhere near as comfortable as my current Turbo.
A Wrights W3N
There is a slight rise in the center of the saddle that makes it a bit uncomfortable for me.
Pretty thick leather so maybe a model before Brooks bought them out.
