Two rides from 2 weeks: post 1
This was last week's Monday. First ride for Nick on his new mini-mtn bike (20"er Scott) off the property, first ride for Jamie ever on any 26"er (her new Schwinn Suburban),and my first ride ever on any type of folder. Local park paths,Sugar Hollow Park...

2 rides in 2 weeks: post 2
From today. Took the Boy for his first ever trail ride. Not exactly technical singletrack (mild double-ish track mostly),but his first taste of trail. He done did good (the Girl said "Daddy,I'm not EVER,NEVER EVER riding trails!",LOL,so it was just us guys)..I thinks I finally have my bestest riding bud ever about ready this year for some real mtn biking

We've (the Boy and I) had a few good rides since loast post,I've just been too lazy to get pics up,LOL! Hes been on a bit more trail (which is a bit more than that other one-I was on the CX bike)...

[IMG][/IMG]
And from today: When he got off the bus,he said "Dad,lets ride to Steeles Creek so I can swing and maybe play some basketball. I'm hungry, what's for a snack befoe dinner**?",so we* rode the 7+ miles (between 7 and 8 miles one way) to the playground (I added a rack-trunk I've had for years in the shed to the Citizen Miami and rode it),had some good PB&J,and he swung and played b-ball with some school friends while I chatted with a few other cyclists (about the Citizen,LOL ) and smoked a good stogie
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
*TJust the Boy and I,as the Daughter doesn't have quite the interes in riding as us guys, she has to "be in the mood" (ahh....teenagers ).
**Wehave dinner late some days, sometimes as late as 8:30PM,all dependig on what time the Wife gets in from work (she RAREly ever get's out of there past 8:30,and it's only 3.4 miles away)

OK there are some obstacles here but I believe we will overcome them in the not-too-distant future. Since this picture was taken I have dismantled the stoker seat mount and turned it upside down and backward to get that seat a bit lower and farther forward. Still not enough for our 7 yr old to pedal unfortunately. It's perfect for our 10 yr old though.
But hoo boy syncing up cadence and when to coast, that's going to be a learning curve.

Rainy day ride
Headed out for a ride with my 2yo daughter just as the rain stopped today South of Seattle. But it was too good to be true. Shortly after stopping to snap this photo at the top of the hill we got dumped on. Good thing we're not fair weather riders

My #2, 5 months old, took his maiden voyage in the side car today and, well, I think he's addicted!

It's been a couple weeks since he's ridden with me though...I missed out on the "30 Days of Riding" that lots of people around the world do in April over my spinal injuries flaring up,so I'm right in the middle of my own "30 Rides in 31 Days of May"...I've been riding a bit further andfaster than he wants to do lately, plus his b-day being 2 days ago,he got a new b-ball goal a couple weeks back as an early gift,he's been more interested in shooting hoops (which I do with him even immediately after a hard ride ),LOL!
School lets out soon,we're hoping to do some bike-camping rail-trail style soon after

Not sure if I got this resized (I tried and apologise if it didn't),but this pic is published on page 12 of the newest (just hit the mailbox this week) issue of Urban Velo magazine
Here's a link to the page in the magazine (it's always free to read online, inexpensive to subscribe to the print version-and no,I'm not a paid endorsement,LOL! )...
https://www.urbanvelo.org/issue31/p12-13.html
...and as soon as school lets out for Summer vacation for Nick (and hopefully Jamie will want to go as well...a Dad can dream, right? ),we're planning some mini-tours on railtrails,at least overnighters, maybe longer. I'll be hauling all the camping gear on this since I finally got it together...

Nice! How are those Citizen folding bikes? I'm pretty skeptical of Citizen because they started out seeming to trying to appeal to people who just wanted a fixie that met their taste in paint, but I saw one of their folding bikes recently and it didn't look like junk.

I'm pretty happy with my (Citizen) Miami. It HAS TO BE the most comfy bike I own...it just fits me right,ya know? While all the components are brand-name parts, they are lower level, btu I haven't had ANY issue with anything on it at all (and I've been riding it lots lately). Once I added that rack-trunk I'd had for years (and thankfully was kept in the bike shed at the old house when the house burned,LOL! ),I can stop off while on rides and pick up smaller items (DVD rentals happen lots on this bike, but bananas, half gallons of milk,Oreos, etc, etc have all be crammed in there too),and more than once,Nick (Son) and I have ridden out to a park with sandwiches and snacks in there. It isn't overly fast (though I can average over 10MPH easily enough,I generally choose to ride it slow and enjoy it though),and it's a wee-bit on the heavy side (I have no scales, just thinking of the times I've carried it folded),but for under $250 shipped (with optional rack and carrying bag) I didn't expect light, and in lite of how well it performs for me,it's a small trade-off....I'm not a weight weenie anyways (nothing wrong with that though),and I don't have to fold it for public transit or pack it up stairs to get into an apartment either-others might put more emphasis on it's weight.
I like it,and I recommend it for the meager investment

I pimped my ride!
I just put some LED light bars on the Tanjor, both for added safety and for added pizazz. My 5 year old loves 'em, and had a good time showing up to her school concert in it tonight!

Took my 2 1/2 year old son to the park in a trailer for the first time. I borrowed this one just to see if he would like it and ride in it, and he LOVES it! Looks like I'll have to buy one now, wonder if I could find something in yellow to match the bike.

Everybody's moving up a size:
(actually while she can pedal the 24" bike, starting/stopping are not reliable yet so she's going to stick to the 20" bike for commuting)
(also, the 24" will be a hand-me-down (as is her 20"-wheeled commuter) but the 26" is a hand-me-up, our daughter won it in a bike commuter contest when she was 3 and big bro has only now grown into it)

Burley Cub trailer with #3, I've got a rack to mount the BabySeat II as well, but only put it on when I'm carrying the seat.
