Creaky, that sounds like a fairly common problem. I see it here regularly, and I have not found a solution for it here.
When I lived in Texas, a police officer who did the ride frequently warned guys about not stopping at a stop sign at the bottom of a hill. So, one week, there was a police car sitting there and pulled everyone over who didn't stop. He gave them all tickets. That fixed the problem.

Honestly, this does work. It's like ignoring a troll. If they notice that they were intentionally reverse-dropped, they will lose all interest and stop running stop signs. if they don't notice (just as some trolls do not notice that they are being ignored), they will continue to run stop signs but who cares, they are doing their own thing.
However, accomplishing this does require not caring if the reverse-dropped hammerhead goes away thinking he has crushed everyone's soul, similar to how ignoring a troll requires not caring if the troll goes away thinking everyone has tacitly acknowledged the superiority of his comments.

My son is sitting here in an Argentina jersey watching the replay!
We enjoyed watching a few of the Euro games while in Scotland/England. Great atmosphere watching with a crowd in a pub!

This is about a ****head who runs stop signs, while on the front, towing the group. The ****heads behind, are following his wheel.
It is my contention and firm belief that the rider on the front of the group has a responsibility to watch out for the safety of the group behind.
This particular individual disagrees.
If it were so simple as to "just let him go" that would be easy, but that's not how it plays out.
Meanwhile I'm in a messaging "debate" with the guy this morning. All I get is excuses.
And no, I don't want to stop attending the ride, it's a good ride, good workout, good friends, except for one or two people who seem to have some social issues.

Seems like you have two options.
1- talk to the other guys on the group and agree to just let the guy go when he runs a stop sign. It's only unsafe for other people if they choose to follow him.
2- live with it.
If you can't accomplish #1, that means the outlier on the ride is you, not the stop sign runner.

Is this a club ride? If so, is everyone a member? Tell the idiots you will have the club revoke their membership if this continues. You don't need those kind of riders. You can also meet with the police.

It doesn't help em view us as less of a nuisance is all I'm sayin. It's one thing to go through a stop sign if it's obvious there's no traffic, it's another to have your default be hammer through all of the things.

There are some 15-20% hills around here, and I was worried if I stopped I'd fall over because I'm using old style Keo cleats without the grips. I almost fell on some stones the other day because my cleat slipped.

Friday is my last day at my current job, and Monday is my first day at my new job.
I've been here 4.5 years, and while I have been unhappy with a lot of things in my current job, I'm feeling a bit bummed to be leaving.
One of the main reasons for leaving is our federal contract expires at the end of September, at which point my job may have been terminated. A new contract RFP was supposed to come out in April, but didn't come out until today. I think I would have enjoyed working on the new contract - assuming we won it.
Also, I'm not terribly excited about the new gig. It's not quite the step forward in my career I was seeking. It's basically doing the same thing at another organization for a bit more money. And, I don't really have a good sense of whether I will fit in there. I only had one interview with them - I expected to have a second round as I have always had a second round - but they offered me the job based on just the one meeting.
Still, I accepted the position because I knew I needed to find something.
I've been here 4.5 years, and while I have been unhappy with a lot of things in my current job, I'm feeling a bit bummed to be leaving.

I run red lights if stopping puts me in a position to get hit; meaning if no one is there and a car is coming up I'll go so he doesn't have an opportunity to hit me if he runs the light. Every decision I make when interacting with vehicles is on the assumption they'll do the dumbest thing possible.
A few weeks ago I broke this rule and a car went through the stoplight at 55 mph. Missed me by about 6 feet.
In group rides I typically stop, but then again you're usually overruled and some dude will run it.

Even if your new job isn't the Nirvana you're hoping for, it'll keep you in rice and beans until that job comes along.
I completely understand about leaving before the end of the contract. I retired about three years earlier than planned because I thought my company would keep the federal government contract we had, and I was wrong.

I watched two people riding just the other day. One ran a stop sign at full speed, probably 25-28 mph, just as a car that had stopped properly pulled into the intersection. There was almost a meeting of bike and car.
Cyclists who justify running stop signs are idiots, full stop.
Run them and be ready to pay the consequences, whatever the laws are. If you don't think you should stop for stop signs then at least come out and say it, don't bull**** and make up excuses and stuff. Just say "**** it, I don't want to stop and **** you all"
