Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You should come post this question in the 33 subforum! We're starting to get some more activity, and one of the more frequent users these days us from Texas

Snowing in April?

We get the rare snow in April but it's still not nice, Mother nature.

There is racing going on. I see lots of racing photos on local cycling group FB pages. You're just not finding it. I'll see what I can find for you.

Nothing sanctioned by USA cycling,atleast.

That was nice. Cooler temps earlier and colors in the sky would have been better, but I can't complain. Starting to feel like spring in San Diego, already warm in the sun with a high of 71.

Speaking of which, it’s raining quite heavily here so today’s ride is canceled. A few of my friends and I are meeting the one guy who crashed a few weeks ago for lunch. He is off the bike for at least a couple more weeks but apparently healing well and using Peloton to maintain his fitness.

Here are my suggestions:

1. Reach out to Paragon Cycling: (817) 235-0569, adamabstein@yahoo.com

2. Peruse this website: Texas Bike Rides and Race Calendar 2024 - All up to date 2024 Texas bicycle rides in one location (wheelbrothers.com)

3. Try this site as well: BikeReg.com - online cycling event registration

4. And this one: Texas Cyclist – Your resource for Texas bike rides, Texas bike shops and more.

5. This may be the winner for you as they run crits on Thursdays all summer: King Racing Group – King Racing Group

Today's Humpday Hamilton ride is still a go, but Saturday is doubtful.

Thanks, Looks like the King racing group is the only gig in town. Hopefully I’m not in the box every thursday.

Happy Unabomber arrest day everyone! Unfortunately it's already too warm to wear a hoody here today. Maybe tonight I'll don gay apparel.

headed to our 6 month pediatric appointment, wearing some of my nicer work attire. Liz asked why I like to dress up for our Dr's appointments. I thought the answer was obvious - because our pediatrician is super cute!!! lol

Check out Turbo Velo Crit which runs races on Tuesday evenings: Info@turbovelo.com

They have a FB page, but I'm unable to link to it: facebook.com/turbovelo/

2 hour spin around the bike path. Walkers and kids out today. Must be off school and it's a nice day. Some of the little kids are a menace and it's the parents fault.
Rarely any kids out there on weekday. Anyway I avoided mayhem. Rain might be coming back by Friday so we'll see about a club ride Saturday.

Oh noes. It's comfortable enough that you don't have to bundle up to go outside?

Terrible.
