See here, that's not a selfie. That's a picture of the guy I rode with last week, who was trying to pass himself off as Andy_K. He kept telling me it was you after a haircut and beard trim.

Fullerton Loop! Morning after the rain, was fresh and muddy! One of my favorite times to ride, very little dust plus all the wet soil and trees. Much better than the typical OC urban odors.

Philly Phlyer
A 45 mile journey to the Philly Phlyer this weekend to watch my son race and to test out the Panaracer GravelKing 700x32 on the Ross Utopian. Managed 80% of the trip on mixed use and mixed surface bike paths and the tires were a nice blend of comfort and fast rolling. Discovered the Cynwyd Heritage Trail to avoid much of the Philadelphia city traffic which was a nice bonus.

Found this little guy trying to cross river road coming into our housing area. Several of his brothers and sisters not so lucky. It happens every spring around here. I was nice and set him off into the marsh near by.
Don't want to meet him when he grows up!

There's currently about 6 inches of snow & it's still coming down.
Found this cheery old pic from September, 2014 .
Don't know what kind of bike it is, but it looks well-aged.

I got my Tempo rebuilt after powder coating yesterday, so I got to go on a little 15 mile shakedown today.
I was a bit too ambitious putting a 13-21 corncob on the rear, especially this early in the season, so the 13-28 will be going back on shortly.
Nice to be back on a racy bike again.

Got to missing the snow a bit with the nice weathe so I took a ride up over Federal Road 698 between Alma and Fairplay Colorado and found some. I was basically the first one over the route this year and had to carry walk a bit.
Banned.
Looks as if it would be cozy with the addition of a portable fire pit. I bet it looks great in summer!

^^^ Very nice, and Good for You! Sometimes we just have to defy the weather and do what we want, right? As long as you have the means to clean the bike off properly afterwards, why not?
I'll be doing that tomorrow... Can't wait!

Nice morning shots, VR!
First long ride of the year today.
On the way to Seattle via the Preston Fall City Trail by NBend, on Flickr
Rode into Seattle from my house in North Bend and had lunch at Metier up on Capitol Hill. It’s a Bike Shop/Cafe much like the Rapha Clubhouse but only slightly better. They serve beer so thats good but I felt so out of place in there. I roll in on my new Touring Rig, probably weighed what two of anything else parked inside there was. Where I placed it wasn’t to their liking so they referred me to some gal over in retail who made a spot for me. Hipsters and racers lounging around..I am in my knickers and a sweatshirt. Didn’t feel like I fit in at all. I ordered some food and had to go back and remind them they had forgotten to serve me my sandwich some 10-15 minutes later which they un-apologetically put to rights in a very indifferent way. I don’t think I’ll darken their door again.
After lunch I explored the neighborhoods up on Capitol Hill and Mt. Baker. riding up and down some interesting brick and cobbled streets. I rode back to the Eastside via the new “520 Bridge” bike trail. It is really nice. Wide, and smoother that the I90 trail, I rode it to Redmond, then picked up the East Lake Sammamish Trail n rode that to Issaquah. From there, it was a combo of double track, gravel and pavement home. I would guess somewhere around 80 miles or so for the day though because of my fitness, it felt much longer. Not that I’m complaining! it was a good day. Parting shot of Mt. Si from Snoqualmie just a few miles from home.

^^^Glad you had a good ride out of the day, always amazes me how we, people can have something in common and still not be a little more tolerant of a deviation in their perceived view of how things should be. You came on a bike as did they, yet somehow maybe not the right bike, go figure.
I bet none of them covered even half the ground you did.

The second photo in your 11982 post reminds me of a blizzard back in the 1970's in Ocean City, Maryland. The ocean froze (or slushed) for about 150 yards out from the shore. Ice piled up on the beach about 8 feet high. The back bay froze completely, and at least one idiot decided to drive his pickup over it. That did not work out well.
I spent the night at my boss's house. Two of my co-workers spent the night in a chicken house. My wife spent the night 24 miles away from our home.
In hindsight, those are fond memories.

As usual you guys are waaay too hard to keep up with. Nice pics, nice riding.
Well, I managed to ride my commute again finally after three nor'easters in quick succession dumped so much snow. Today's ride of choice was the Grandis and a nice ride it was too.

In late January I met up with a bike friend for a first proper ride of the year to be book-ended by coffee. It looked like it might be a nice day, with some weak sunshine breaking through low clouds, and we decided we'd head towards the popular roadie route of Iona Beach to ease into things with some sympathetically flat topography.
We soon realized our sea-level mistake, as we descended towards the water we were quickly enveloped in damp chilly fog. Luckily vehicle traffic there is pretty light on weekend mornings so we cautiously stayed the planned course.
We certainly weren't the only ones who were determined to keep on pedaling despite the pea soup!
The sun came out a bit again just in time for us to thaw our toes and warm up with some end of the ride coffee and pastries.

Got in a short mtb ride yesterday that ended up being part of a Cascade Bicycle Club group ride. Fortunately I knew 3 of the other riders so had some good conversation in between my climbing workouts.

Indeed. Some members here have both incredible places to ride, as well as a keen eye to capture them with a camera.
I don't ride anywhere truly spectacular, but riding out on the empty county roads in between farms has it's own special charm. The blackbirds and doves are back and quite chatty. I also saw two cats and 4 baby goats out enjoying the weather -- soon the trees will bud and everything will be green again.
