I like your purchase. While the Venge is more of a task specific bike, this one can handle most everything you throw at it!! nice buy!!

Only 2 rides in them so far. Both at or below freezing temps so they were short rides with little climbing. So far, I'm a fan of the Empires. Very light and stiff. The first ride I thought I'd be ok without covers. I was wrong. My toes were frozen instantly. Good ventilation, perhaps? We'll see when it warms up. They are, to me, very comfortable shoes and sizing seems to be right on with most other brands and types of shoes.

The Surly Pugsley fatbike. I have been buying bright greeness for it .. neon green bottle cages, Fyxation pedal, and green Lizard Skin grips are on the bike now but this pic was taken before I got the grips. Also not shown in the pic is a PMM Sherpa rear rack and Dave's Mud Shovel fenders. This bike is a blast to ride.

I just converted my MTB wheels to tubeless. One good 13 mile ride in the mountains so far and I'm loving it. I was using those ginormous, beast-heavy thorn-resistant inner tubes (the two tubes together weighed 3 lbs, ouch!), so going tubeless saved mucho weight, lowered the pressure I was using, and made the tires feel squishier and grippier. My hardtail actually feels like it got a little suspension from the rear tubeless tire that I didn't feel before.
I liked it so much I just ordered a Hutchinson 700x28 Secteur tubeless road tire. I ordered just one, to see what it feels like mounted on my rear wheel, and see how big it ends up after inflation on my Pacenti SL-23 rims. The seat stays/brakes have enough headroom for the tire if it inflates bigger than the gatorskin 25s currently there, but it's a little tighter up in the fork. If I really like it, I'll order another one, or possible go to one of the 25mm versions like the Intensive.
I'm really hoping that 28mm Secteur tubeless makes my stiff aluminum frame into a Cadillac sort of feel.

Last week I made the mistake of checking eBay to see if there were any deals on Ultegra Di2... $650 later I'm the owner of a mint 6770 mini-group. I haven't installed the parts yet, but I'm feeling some buyer's remorse and am considering flipping it on CL.

...and I had to pay full MSRP. Not happy about it, but I rode one and could not deny it. It's replacing a frame with 4cm too much reach. This will also financially guilt me into riding more, since I'm afraid after my big crash.

Sweet! I take it is a 2014 Hi Mod? I almost picked one of these in 56cm brand new for $3k. Not bad considering it was brand new.

Me and my big mouth. Sweet bike none the less. The price indication was to point out that discounts are to be had even in 2014 framesets, not to come off as a pompous ass. I am really looking forward to see the finished build.

I planned on buying a fancy bike, maybe even something like an Addict with DA, but my surgery cost me upwards of $10k in copay and I had to buy a car with an automatic trans (mobility issues and no strength); we're talking Parlee money in medical bills. I shouldn't have even bought the CAAD10, but I really wanted/needed a smaller frame after what I've been through to get my center of mass over the bottom bracket, instead of out front. I am not offended, CAAD10 rules all. I look forward to slaying on it.

There are no LBS around here who sell anything under MSRP, ever. I do not understand the how the bicycle shop business model is sustained by demand.

About paying MSRP - don't sweat it. I actually like the concept of no haggling. Makes for much simpler transactions with less hassle therefore less stress. I would love for things to just have a fair price that is non negotiable. Then again all this is driven by supply, demand and competition (bunch of speculations from uneducated buyers)... blah. Then again I got my complete build @ 33% off by outsourcing, negotiating and shopping around .. the hypocrisy.

First crash ever, only been cycling 6 months and had two plates put in for my radius and ulna, pin in my wrist, and a litany of other fractures and contusions. The new bike will fit way better and ride smoother, but there's enough money behind it that I won't walk away from cycling.

i just ordered Cytomax powder and a six six one dirt lid for winter commuting. I hope the helmet fits and is warmer than my road helmet in cold weather.
Feel free to join the clymb here.
Full disclosure: I get $25 if you make an order of $25 or more.
