Vintage FREJUS Italian Road Bike - Full Campagnolo Record - $1,750

CL LA Frejus

Offered For Sale is a stunningly restored/retro-modded early 1970s Italian FREJUS road bike. This was their top of the line model, constructed on Reynolds 531 tubing and Campagnolo drop outs. This particular bike was rechromed and repainted by framebuilder/refinisher Chris Kvale in about 2011. The bike received a full rebuild at that time and has seen VERY little mileage since. Most of its original Campagnolo Nuovo Record components were used to rebuild it, though period Campagnolo Record high flange hubs were laced to current H+Son TB14 clincher rims, wrapped in Challenge Paris-Roubaix tires. Rear derailleur is dated 1971. The stock Universal brakes were upgraded to Campagnolo, utilizing the rare Campagnolo drop bolt on rear caliper. New decals were sourced for the original 3TTT stem etc. Everything soft (cables, tape, housing, toe straps, tires, etc.) was replaced and a Brooks B17 Champion Standard (cutout version) was installed.
Seat tube measures 60cm (center-to-center) and top tube measures 57.5cm (center-to-center).
$1750 OBO

Interesting, no info about size or serial number. Frame looks right for an 83. So, may not have a Waterford serial number. A Franken build?
Cheers,
Van

I've purchased from this seller plenty and he has some good stuff. Taller than what I ride but I can always facilitate for someone if interested.

Nice bike with good components at a reasonable price. Any ideas on the model?

No idea, I’m thinking it was rebuilt with this at some point.

1987 Schwinn Tempo $250

I’d like to take a look to scratch the Schwinn itch. But in the photo of the ND side, where the seat stay meets the chain stay I see a crack and corrosion. The wheels/hubs aren’t what’s in the catalog. I wonder if the hub OLD was too big. Not interested enough to chase down the dimension of the hub pictured.

1972 Schwinn Varsity $160

I really want to check this one out. Back in the 80’s a cousin and I would spend the occasional weekend at our Grandparents. An Aunt of ours bought a couple of bikes at a yard sale for us to ride. They were kept in “Grandpa’s” garage. One of those bikes was a green Varsity like this one. We pedalled many a mile during our pre driving days. Oh for the nostalgia…

Yeah, looks like somebody tried to spread the rear by hand. I'd pass on this one. With a little patience, a better condition, original Schwinn should turn up.

Maybe this guy tried to jam the 135mm Deore hub into that 126mm space.
