the design does have some compromises. Climbing in low gear you can see the rear wheel flopping back and forth.
the "flex web" on mine cracked some years ago. I'm not brave enuff to weld it. But a cool bike. Sammy Hagar had one, like that's a thing.

The URT was an interesting way of solving some of the problems with early designs - but a bike that stiffens when you stand and is fully active when seated isn't the greatest for proper mountain biking. Had a tendency to buck you forward when compressed quickly as well - great for causing endos on steep/rough terrain. Pretty good for road/"gravel" riding though.
I tried a few when they were current and preferred a hardtail. Early suspension had some serious limitations but the experimentation was fairly interesting.

how about this Serotta "T-Max" with ultra tapered Columbus tubin.g. This bike has "go-kart" handling, and faded florescent paint.

That's about a 94 LX group with an earlier XT rear d. (m735?). Back in the day I ran that group into the ground and it did a great job. The brakes eventually kinda dented in so pad adjustment got pretty difficult/impossible. I got some Magura hydros to replace em...
Manitou 1 is worth restoring. If not to you then somebody. I don't think there's any air to pressurize in that fork. I had a Manitou 2 and it was just an undamped stack of rubber bumpers, I believe the 1 is the same. I'd consider going ridgid, depending on how you're going to use the bike.
I have vague memories of Cinelli having what I considered "catalogue" bikes. Good, but nothing special. It would make a great fast city bike, gravel grinder, or mellow trail bike that has an extra bit of panache from the Cinelli branding.

I think those Panaracer Smoke & Dart tires were offered in 700C sizes in the 90's. Looks like an early 29'er to me. Can you read us the tire dimensions and rim size for us? Hopefully that can narrow down what this could be.
First year for that black Deore LX group was 1993.

Nice bike. Didn't know there were only 10 made. I've seen two in person, plus yours online....

I don't have any business relationship with them but I'm thinking they've got what you need.

it is 26"
reasonably light too, i rode home the 5km from where i bought it with it on my shoulder
restoring the fork could be cool but i might just put a rigid one on it

Yeah, I've been lucky enough to see one of these in-person (at Chimney Rock in Central NJ)... but they are super rare... and SUPER COOL!!!

If it were mine (and fit) I'd probably go with rigid fork, bar ends, big single ring, slicks or microknobbies, flat pedals. Fast fast town bike. Fenders depending on location/bike stable.
If it didn't fit with that stem I'd sell it. Personally, I'd sell the fork as I don't have time to restore it. It wouldn't be all that difficult to do and it's a nice bit of history so it would be nice if it weren't binned.

Hard to believe but if you say so...
It just doesn't have the look of most Cinelli mountainbikes I've seen. Only one it comes close to is the Argentovivo from early nineties. But even for an Argentovivo it has a very little sloping top tube. Most Cinelli mtb's I know (including my 1990 Ottomilainsu) came wit sloping top tubes (long before most other constructors). Ofcourse I can be wrong, I only got into mountainbikes in 1991 (and even here in Belgium Italian mountainbikes weren't very popular - opposite to Italian race bikes).
