Even for $10, if you were wanting to keep it they need a lot of attention to make them good and solid. The main caps need to be replaced, and they need a relay board installed between the control board and the outputs or you'll lose your speakers when an output device fails and puts 50vdc on the speaker wires.
Hell of an amp, though.........
I paid $40 for mine, and it was in working condition. Power supply capacitor and LED front panel upgrade kit - $119. Speaker relay retrofit board - $95. Still have the original drivers and outputs, and everything is jake so far. DC offset looks good as does the bias, so I'm going to leave it be and see what happens.

Got new speakers: Infinity RSIIIa's
Also, look what I found while cleaning my garage today:
Think they're any good?

Wait a minute. You just said on the previous page that you're downsizing to a smaller apartment. Those Infinities are much too big for a small apartment. I'll tell you what, I've got some Minimus 7s that I'll trade you straight across for those. They even have upgraded crossovers.
I really like the patina on that wall.

He didn't tell you that he needed to take the rest of the paint off the walls?

Looks like my living room wall got roasted... That's wallpaper, btw. I was going to finish removing it, but leaving this house means that nothing else is going to get fixed. I'm moving in May, so I will just have to deal with it for now.
Best comment.

They won't give him near the $3 each that he's hoping to realize. I sold a pile of nice records to Half Price Books. Once. They gave me literally pennies for them - about 25 - 35 cents each. Later on, I saw them in the retail rack for $5-$6 each. Not worth the gas to drive there......

Not sure how you guys do it, but if you want something special you get there early. If you want some deals, show up around noon when the buyers go to lunch and the sellers get hungry. Garagesales are from .25 to $3, if not free. My son loves LP's (Punk) and a friend of my daughter is a mid century historian that loves to drop a needle on a disc. I like the cover graphics and reading about the artist. So, lot's of collectors out there...

Just had a nice thrift store strike the other day. First Them lp (american version on Parrot, in Mono), first Kinks lp, both in decent shape. About seven other period lps as well. Got lucky, was the first person through the pile. Happens now and then. Dollar each. My listening for the next few days is locked in.

That's the way they operate. They work on the assumtion that they're the easiest way to get rid of an lp pile, and people will just take whatever. And often they're right.

I had a pretty good haul this Saturday on the garage sale circuit:
Technics SL-Q303 turntable, complete but dirty, but with a very nice AT cart - $10
Sansui 771 receiver, cosmetically near mint but power cord cut - $5
A stack of 15 or so LP's in VG+ condition for $2 each.... Highlights:
Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks 1964 - 1971
The Beatles/1962-1966 (2 LP set)
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
The Beatles - Introducing The Beatles (Vee-Jay label, 3rd edition of version 1, with the songs listed on the back)
The Beatles - SGT Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I just picked up a "baby" Marantz 2215B. I'm using it as a clock radio by plugging it into an audio timer. I got it cheap because bulbs were out and pots needed cleaning, but it's now the cleanest of the three Marantz receivers I own.
The sound is amazing for only 15 watts per channel.
