Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Stay tuned.

BTW, the first “really good” bike I had was a Panasonic Team America from 1986, it was beautiful and had a full Dura Ace 7400 groupset. I only had it for a few months before it was stolen. This is when I lived in Baltimore, someone broke into the house and stole it. It’s “just” a bike and no one got hurt, but I was quite upset. I filed a police report but clearly the Baltimore police dept was not going to dedicate any effort to recover a stolen road bike.
Things are often different in small town. For example, our chief of police is a friend. I’ve given him some free legal time, and he’s done some favors in return. If I called him about a stolen bike, he’d probably have someone on it.

I can't pick for crap. That'd be a fun rematch of the Harbowl.

Jackson is being absurd. I knew he was great but this is beyond.

I rarely watch even the entire second half of sporting events, other than Tennessee games.

I think I've seen enough of the Chiefs/Panthers game already, and I've only been half watching it while eating fish n chips.

Roads are pretty dry, so gonna put the roadie wheels on and go for a spin.

they are playing like the Panthers

fortunate to be down by only 10

the defense got lost in the locker room - and Jackson - a legit mvp candidate - struggling to throw a simple swing pass

Except for the one drive they don't seem to be able to do anything on offense.

Indispensable for any checked item. Shortens the conversation with airline baggage agents when your **** don’t make it.

On today's Sunday Bay Area ride, not much vehicle traffic, but there was an over-representation of what my dad would call "snotty cars":

Porsches, Ferraris, Audis, all out for their Sunday fun in the warm and dry weather. Lots of "vroom vroom".

Then there were the "look at me, I'm an idiot" vehicles, AKA Cybertrucks. Spotted 4 of them. Probably all Tesla engineers.

Anybody else tired of Jim Nantz besides me? I am just tired of listening to him, he has that old-school style that grates on my nerves. When the hell is he going to retire?

Only one Cybertruck, but at least one Ferrari and an Aston Martin. Not as many as a warm summer day, though.

OTOH, I did see lots of greenery, and the Manzanitas at the Water Temple are blooming, keeping the bumblebees noisily busy.

Honestly, I don't tend to get fired up either way about announcers. Don't get the upset over Romo "going bad" the last couple years, don't get the hate for the Thursday night pair, not Joe Buck... they're pretty much all fine for me. I even like Phil and Bob, though I miss Paul. Hannah Walker and Ant McCrossin are great. And then the Sky F1 crew is good, and the International crew as well.

I do hate Sean Kelly's voice. Will never watch him. He's like the only one.
