$10,000 to have any bike, what would you guys buy?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wouldn't spend any more than $5k on a bike possibly with Ultegra electronic.

Rest of money for Powertap, wheels, and a computrainer.

I missed the requirement that it be a road bike.

So then a Moulton in polished stainless steel cause they don't make them in titanium.

Cannondale Supersix EVO! The make it as light as possible, but I think it would cost more than $10,000

I'd buy a $1,000.00 bike and take the other $9,000.00 and deposit it into my child's college account.

For $10k I'd probably get a custom Firefly Titanium, Enve fork, 3T cockpit, Sram Red-Black (or DuraAce Di2), Quarq Crankset, lightest seatpost/saddle I can find, and some light carbon clinchers. (Yes clinchers, I'm currently too lazy to ride tubular.)

Hmm there's a course being offered locally in which Paul Brody teaches you how to build a bike frame. I'd probably do that and build it up nice. Probably a cross bike though, my road bike never leaves me wanting.

I think I'd still have a lot of money left over though.

+1 on to this, or at least the powertap and wheels. I think the computrainer is an accessory, not bike.

On the Specialized Venge, yes it's a cool looking bike and it's got that aero stuff going on, but it's supposed to have a pretty harsh ride. I'd vote for a Tarmac SL4 (of course I'm biased since I just got one). A nice groupset, powermeter, wheels, etc., and you'll be pushing $10k.

I couldn't imagine spending $10k on a bike and not have a powermeter on it, but I can see how others might not value it.
