Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So you think that magnet placement would affect speed but wrong tire size wouldn't?

Where's that facepalm image when you need it?

Just the opposite, perhaps. It seems like he reads more than he posts, and prefers to post to quality over quantity.

If you see him again, add another spoke magnet to his wheel if he's not looking. Then he can go twice as fast as he was before.

Fair enough. Just wanted to explain it in case anybody else didn't understand. I will just avoid that mess altogether though and stick with the Garmin.

ehhh...I don't care about being judged on what I know and don't know. I'd rather be corrected and know more for it than just wonder if I'm right or wrong...somebody smarter or more knowledgable will have the answer

I assume you only saw one magnet on the wheel. Maybe he puts the other(s) in place at the beginning of a ride.
