Specialized Roubaix Elite 2011! PICS
#26
yeah the 2011 sl2 elite has 8r instead of 9r or 10r from previous S-works.
I put 500 up front for this bike so its reserved...ill pay it during this month, and have it by the beginning of september.
A couple of good riding friends, frowned a bit on the 11-32 cog, because its too mountain bike for their 11- 27 cog LOL. Since then they have changed their minds and are pretty impressed, actually thinking of selling a couple of bike to get one..
The best feature IMO is the frame (investment), could probably take this bike from 19.11lb to 17lb by slowly upgrading to a lighter group (longterm)
ill be posting more pics soon.

Nice bike. Doesn't that 11-32 have intergalactic spaces between the gears? I saw in some other thread that's was 11-32 gives you, but 12-32 give 12-24 with closer spacing plus a giant leap from 24 straight to 32. Is that right?
Anyway, cool bike!
Anyway, cool bike!

I can see a utility for that cogset, but for the most part its a complete joke for your average road ride. Very inefficient. Its funny because with all of the Paris-Roubaix marketing, that race is absolutely *not* about climbing hills. I'll be impressed when a new Roubaix frame has the clearance for 28mm tubulars.

Hopefully Specialized will update their website soon, to allow a comparative view of their complete 2011 lineup. Looks like they brought the 8r carbon layup over from the 2010 Tarmac line, as it is not present in the 2010 Roubaix. Not sure about the SL2 designation on the Elite.

50/34 and 32 in back? That's really interesting. I'm too lazy to calculate the ratios but you can probably duplicate the extremes of a triple.
I love the paint job.

yes! isn't it cool? it has lower grade carbon 8r (pretty nice)
UPDATE: Yesterday i bought the bike, the shop gave me a nice deal on pedals cages and shoes so its all good. The mechanic (the best and most trustworthy) asked me if i could leave the bike there to prep it today. so im now waiting on the mechanic.

Sick.
I've got the '08 Elite, love it to death. Not a huge fan of the gold lettering, but it's still a sweet looking bike. Have fun and ride the hell out of it.
