Spent too much money on a fixie, what can I do to feel better?

That Cinelli bike is sick dude, definitely don't sulk on your purchase. We all spend a lot of money on our bikes here on Bikeforums. Just ride the heck out of it and get the full value out of your purchase.

By the way, I almost missed your "is riding fixies only for rich people?" comment.
No no no... riding road bikes is only for rich people.

Just ride it. You never pay too much if you ride it and the more you ride it the more you'll enjoy it. Could be worse - spend $7,000 on a downhill bike and you run the risk of trashing the bike on just about every rock, drop, jump, and tree.
If it makes you feel any better I am about 1 day away from winning a T3 Funda carbon fork that I don't need and probably won't make a huge difference to my ride, and now that I think of it, all I can think of is 'what was I thinking'. anyone want to trade a red T3 for a white T3?

If you don't have money to eat/pay rent/bills, then you should consider selling the bike. (even then, you're done building the bike, so if you had to skimp a little before, you should be fine now)
otherwise, as others have said, enjoy the hell out of it. Seems like you went with quality parts up front, so aside from basic maintenance, everything should last you a while before you'll want to upgrade anything.
Occasionally, I consider how much money I've dumped into my bike, but every time I think about this, I think about how much mileage I've gotten from quality upgrades. Every dollar I spend on cycling is another dollar of pure happiness.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Just think that with the immediate depreciation you get after riding around the block a few times to cruise Starbucks it is now only worth $1100...

The logic related in this thread is also the reason I wear my tuxedo at least three times a week.
Getting my money's worth.

Much better than those dudes paying 5x MSRP for some used sneakers from EBAY, just to take photos of them and never wear them.

Man, I've been eying a new road bike. I think I'm gonna have to pick up a 2nd job and do it right.
No way, man. That's YOUR problem. I'm not touching that one. Good luck!

You can sell the bike for what you put into it, right? No? Funny how that works out...But at the end of the day you have a nice, unique bike that you built up and rode. The longer you ride it, the less it costs per day.

I have the opposite problem, thought I still spent too much for what I got, then thought about the upgrades & how much that will cost, combined with should I have spent a little more to get what I wanted out of the box. $ 2,200 for a bike though, I'd never do that and if I did, it would be a carbon frame. At the end of the day, what I spent, works, less apt to be stolen and I have an strange feeling it'll be around longer than I figure it ever would've been. I doubt anyone would take it off my hands for what I put into it, then again they're all like that. Now I want to put lights on it so I can ride it earlier and later, Walmart has the $ 17 solution. But if I can get it directly from China for around $ 5 delivered, I'll wait until September 2010 for that ?
Your's is a fine bike, since you're into it and will never get all of it back. Ride it and enjoy it. It'll last you the rest of your life, just don't crash it.
