I've said it before. Thi year's skinsuits turn into next years baselayer.

This does not apply for tt skinsuits, I can't hardly stand in my tt skinsuit let alone try to ride long road rides in it lol.

Do you guys glue your numbers on? I don't see any pins in those pictures, and those numbers are FLAT!

Probably upset that the guy was smooth enough to catch up and photobomb LOL!

But other than that, it bothered me too. Kind of rude if you ask me. Especially if he's a member here....

+1

There was a dude around here that looked like that his first year racing - people mocked him until he crushed it.

He made Cat 3 in a year, lost weight, hurt egos, and got invited to join the local snob team.

Not actually my picture, but imo it makes it worse that it's a stranger and innocent victim

Everyone needs a skinsuit in their lives. Whether you wear it to race in or not is up to you.

Cannot decide on kit for tomorrow's race. Very windy and a 34 deg F start.

Embrocation and skinsuit? Bib tight under the skinsuit? Definitely a base layer up top under the suit.

Most likely the training wheels and not the 50mm's tomorrow if it's that windy.

Does it matter in a 4/5 race? Probably not. I'll probably roll up with a car full of kit to choose from.

Honestly I'd just worry about staying warm and not being in the most aero kit.

I bought one several years ago and got so annoyed seeing it in the closet that I decided to build up a TT bike just to justify it.

I wrestled with this question myself as I will be doing primary crits, a few road races, and a few TTs but am only Cat 5. The vast majority of my kit is too baggy for racing, so a skinsuit definitely isn't going to hold me back, I pulled the trigger when I found a great deal. I got a Verge 2017 speedsuit clearance sample model for $30, it's this one. https://store.vergesport.com/samples...ve-black-blue/ Literally the only clearance skinsuit I can find from any brand under $100 in size S.

It's arriving tomorrow, so hopefully I like it, if I don't, if it turns out to be awkward or weird in a non TT race setting, it was only $30, so no huge commitment

I almost crashed about 5 times on the first day I raced with my skinsuit. I don't know if this means it is good luck or bad luck.

Probably because you were going faster and just weren't used to it!

You have to be careful. Some skinsuits are so fast if go the wrong direction they'll slow the Earth's gravity and mess with your balance.

There is a huge psych thing to putting a good skinsuit on. It's the same feeling I got when I put on spikes when I ran track and xc. It means it's get **** done time.

Wore mine on first TT last night. Now I’m more of a skinsuit believer.

Buy one, now. You’re still sitting there? Why? Get up and buy it.

I’m not THAT strong. The aero helmet, decent tuck, and skinsuit helps me a ton.

Like holy crap it was fast in the gusty wind. And I’m a slow TTer as a beginner.
