I'll be watching this thread, as I live in Kenosha, halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee, which you seem to have experience with.

By the way, did you know they're renewing work (at least political) on a new KRM (Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee) line going from Kenosha to Milwaukee? Metra didn't want to cooperate.

I hear Metra accommodates bikes on ALL trains now. Can't wait to go to Chicago on bikes with my daughter. (Metra Union Pacific North line)
Hey just saw this. Aside from rush hour in the direction of daily commuters, yes Metra accommodates bicycles. Bungee to the handicap seats. I didn’t know about the new line. I have a friend whose carbon wheel was damaged by the hook on the Milwaukee to Chicago line so watch out!

They no longer have the exception for rush hour trains. Bones are accepted on ALL* Metra trains now!

I think the only exception is for the south shore electric lines.
