I went into the mountains again today with 3 others. It was warm but nice. 40ish miles and 4300 feet of climbing. Our one friend is slowing quite a bit and loves going up there so we let him go first and then catch and pass him then wait again. It's casual and relaxing, actually.

3 rooms down 3 more to go. I have come to the realization that I have cutting in rooms for painting.
We also used almost all five gallons on paint on three rooms and a hall way. That was unexpected.

New wheels are good enough reason to quit WFH for the day, right? I mean, I gotta test them to know they work, right?

Roller grid. You put that in a 5 gallon bucket, pour in a gallon and a half or 2 paint, dip your roller in the paint and roll it out on that grid. Most rollers have little hooks on the handle that you can hook onto the grid when you need to take a break. Make sure roller is covered in paint so it doesn't dry out. Throw a wet towel over the bucket for longer breaks.

Instead of the little tap she does, most painters will just waggle it a little bit to shake of the roller a bit.

Had a really good ride this morning. It was pretty windy, so I chose to go out in to the headwind, conservatively, and then back home with the tailwind, at a little more brisk pace. Somehow I ended up smashing my metric PR and finished in ~3hr 12mn (19.5mph). That's pretty bonkers to me (for me).
Also went over 4k miles on the year, which is typically my annual goal.

So, I'm riding home from work in a closed lane of a 2-lane road that has "No vehicles" signs sprouting out of it. I see a buddy of mine coming the other way on the opposite side of the road. I turn around and yell at him and smack into a sign at about 12 mph. Oh my ******g God that hurt. I didn't go down, but I have bruises on my right shoulder, thigh, and hand. I don't think they're running the TT tomorrow, but I'm not sure I could do it. Jeez, I'm an idiot.

When I was around that age, I rode my bike into the back of a parked car.

I find overhauling cheap old-school bottom brackets strangely satisfying. They usually come in to the shop practically falling off the bike. After a few minutes of cleaning and greasing, they perform like new.
