Since the head lugs, DS chainstay, and what looks like the fork crown are chromed, it's a safe bet that the entire frameset is chrome underneath. Way easier to plate the whole thing then bother with masking parts of it off. I do anticipate that the only parts that are polished are the aforementioned areas, so while it's fully chromed stripping the paint would reveal a pretty rough finish. Not that I assume you're intending on that, just FWIW
Nice of them to make the pedal threads bigger than normal threading so that adapters can be made

Next issue - there's only one wheel. The rear. I need a matching front. It needs to have a Mavic MA40 rim. The rear is 36 spokes, so that would be ideal, but I could live with 32 - after all, the Battaglin has a 28F/32R wheelset. I could buy a hub and a rim, and then try to build the wheel myself, but I don't even true my own wheels, let alone build them. And I don't have a truing stand, and a good one costs more than a wheelset!
Even if I could bring myself to sell it when I'm done, I suspect I'd be in for a loss, so perhaps this isn't the moneymaking opportunity I was looking for - losing money on every sale. But I'll make it up in VOLUME!!!

A pair for $50. I broke so many of those thing bitd. I also built a set of wheels once. Didn't like it but it isn't that difficult and you don't need a truing stand or tensionmeter. I used the book "The Bicycle Wheel" by Jobst Brandt. I suspect there are a ton of videos now.
This site says they can still get them new which surprises me.

Nah, I'm planning to touch up the chips. The fork blades have so many chips I'm wondering if the chrome plating actually makes the paint adhere poorly so it chips more easily. My next issue is getting the paint to match. I guess it's just a pretty generic dark blue, but maybe more grayish blue than just blue. Not really metalflake. I guess I'll buy a number of different Testors bottles and see which is closest. Still need to get some kind of rust converter, since there are a couple spots on the top tube, lug points, etc. Now I'm wondering whether the frame was only partly chromed, like they didn't dip the whole thing. Dunno.
I'm also less than thrilled with the last powdercoat I had done on a frame so I'm telling myself that I'll only buy bikes with good paint from now on.

My wife used to express a desire for a boat with in-mast furling. Until I asked her how she would feel if caught out in 25+ mph winds and the thing jams and and we have to hit the slip under sail. She doesn't understand sail trim very well either.

It was the strangest thing. I shared the needed info with WhyFi to help speed that along, but I haven't yet heard back. A couple days later someone from Zimbabwe bought some jewelry on a credit card with the same number as mine. I found it odd that they chose to shop in Great Britain, even though they live in Africa. Coincidence? I think not. After all, the money was promised to WhyFi, and even WhyFi said the fellow seemed nice.
