2018 Southern Cross Gravel Race.
I saw a Moots 29'er with rigid fork and fixed gear. The rider was insanely brave.

Took "the other woman" out today.
We practiced a couple of times in the backyard, but today was our first outing to the park. She had fun, I had fun!

No one went with me, so it was doomed for failure, but at least I got a few laps of glory and a couple primes

And a great photo. That's excellent!
I love when guys go off the front. It is such a long shot but every once in a while someone makes it stick. I would have been right on your wheel.
Should have put your hands in the air like you had won.
What handlebars are those?

Thanks Tim! Goal was to take a couple riders with me but I guess my timing was just too good .
The handlebars are Bontrager XXX Aero. Got them super marked down at the local Trek store when they were trying to make room for the following year's models. I also own a pair of Specialized Aerofly's that I've yet to build into a bike yet as well.

Always shop last year's high end gear on clearance when the new stuff comes out.
I'm all about the clearance rack.

lol btw nice edit on quoting me.
I still don't like the Niner 75mm BB, but technically it isn't too far off from Norco's 73.
Norco's 725 frame $900, Niners 853 Reynolds $1,500, (sequoia Pro frame is $1,500. Includes their awesome seatpost & weird bars, has a 68mm bsa & 67 mm bb drop. none of them are candidates for 650x47 for me.
so on Carbon, Norco Search XR and the RDO, Norco tucks the rear wheel. poor mans Open Cycle.
I really dig the new RDO colors.
I'd really love to rip around on a RDO. but.... the truth is I need to replace the fendered Trek Crossrip. and I'd like do do a mix of extended pannier/bikepacking without going full on tour bike. The Niner is more like Warbird with race pedigrees. Maybe there is no blurring that line, but I think the Norco Search XR comes close.
I need deeper pockets for a N+2 , or 3 fat bike, +4 a FS 27.5 trail bike, yaddda.........
However
<adjusts tie, stands up, buttons jacket, clears throat...>"Just because, you know" is is the best possible reason for a Niner RDO. You clearly get this whole bike riding thing. -Tim-

^^ Great shot!
That guy in red looks like he is gunning for you, ready to make a move to the outside.
I love these race pics.

2nd from the left? Ya haha - didn't notice that.
Also @TimothyH I'd like to think that they were just trying to keep my wheel and I was inflicting hurt, but I don't remember that moment based on the shot alone . Could have been either way, esp. since "red" is on a similar fitness level as me. He's a good guy.

@TimothyH You're making me extremely jealous over here. It's 15F here right now.
(That's a southern invitation)
Can't offer much but a soft sofa, full coffee pot, hot shower and access to lots of good riding.
I'll take few days off. LMK.
