Park Tools PRS-20 Team Race Stand - $150 (Durham (Sams/Target))
Date: 2010-03-19, 12:40PM EDT
Reply to: sale-wbmcp-1651412050@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
Ok, my mechanical reach continues to exceed my grasp. And my spare time. So this beautiful stand is still sitting next to my bike. Which I continue to "fix" in my driveway before each ride.
The important thing here is not that I bought something I don't have time to use, the important thing is that my wife need never find out. (And, honey, if you're reading this, you look GREAT in those pants!)
Here is what we have for sale:
Park Tools PRS-20 Team Race Stand ($171 @ Amazon)
Park Tools BAG-20 Team Race Stand Bag ($23 @ Amazon)
Date: 2010-03-19, 12:40PM EDT

Vintage 1971 Raleigh Sports 3 Speed Cruiser- tuned and rides smooth - $125
For sale is a vintage 1971 men’s Raleigh Sports cruiser. The frame is the 21” men’s model with a standover height of 30” at the top tube. This bike was built in England and has a 3 speed internally geared Sturmey Archer hub, original chrome wheels, Pletscher rack, Brooks spring saddle and working front generator light. Front wire basket is included but not shown in the pictures.
It is the perfect townie cruiser- classic vintage style but with enough gears to ride around comfortably. The bike has been cleaned, adjusted and lubricated and rides smooth. Brakes and shifter work great and tires are original and hold air. The chrome bits are shiny and in good condition but paint is rough.

Need a continuous supply of mountain bikes?
Looking for a wholesale buyer for mountain bikes (Newburgh, NY (upstate))

I am an upstate New Yorker, conveniently located about 75 miles north of Manhattan, and I find a lot of old bikes.
I'm looking for someone who can buy mountain bikes from me on a wholesale level, maybe 10 bikes a month (depending what I find), at about $50 each.
These will be mostly brand-name bikes (Trek, Specialized, etc.) from the 1990s, with the occasional shiny modern Schwinn or "Wal-Goose" in the mix.
(I can also probably supply you with lower-end Huffys, Murrays and that sort of thing for about $25 each if you need them; right now I don't pick them up.)
I don't fix or restore the bikes; I usually just air up the tires and hose off the dirt. They're generally in average-to-good condition and most need typical attention: tires, cables, tune-up, etc.
What I want is a wholesale partner who is not going to nickel-and-dime me to death on every bike, and who will reliably buy used mountain bikes in quantity.
This is just for mountain bikes (and probably the occasional hybrid). No "vintage" bikes, road bikes, 3-speeds, etc.
If you think this arrangement might be beneficial for you, then send me an email.
Thanks!

The Raleigh technium series has cromolly forks and rear triangle with aluminum main tubes to reduce weight. The result was a very light bike for its time and the feel of a steel bike. It has internal rear brake cable routing and Suntour derailleurs. This was second from the top of the Technium line of 6 raod bikes. Wheels run straight and true and should be ready to ride. Please include a phone number in your reply.![](https://imagedeposit.com/ad_images/ImageDeposit_dot_com_FREE_Hosting_BIG_UserID_110703_Image_number_955E595A95.jpg)

That Miyata was long gone by the time you posted it here, Chainring. ![Frown](https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I spotted the ad a half hour or so after it posted on CL and wrote the seller, just about the time another local C&Ver forwarded it to me. I was only quick enough to be the seller's backup...but of course the first responder got it. Total time post to pickup was about 90 minutes.

It is haunting me.

Thanks!

if you need to spend $50 for tires perhaps he should drop the price. although 250 does seem reasonable.

I thought about you though, and was going to PM you, but there was no way it was going to still be available.

Dolce far niente
I doubt it. If he's talking rigid framed mtb's, they're not worth $50 at the "wholesale level". Even fully tuned and spic and span, you'll be lucky to get $80 for them. Not enough margin for a profit.
