Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've never done it, but I hear going down around Uvas reservoir is relatively flat (compared to most rides around here). It is one of the two "Longer flat options" here.

Also, I don't see that challenge available for me to join, weird. The next one I see is the CTS Bucket List Challenge, which is 623 miles from 08/20 - 08/26 (apart from the running challenge). That's a lot of miles.

I'm doing it, hoping to complete despite 3 weekends of racing in the same time frame which will lower my riding distance.

I'm nearing the end of my own mileage challenge. It's just the whole month of July - everybody at my shop participates. I'm at 1266mi (2037km) so far. Plan to be around 1550mi for the month.
