Weekdays I get out in the evening for my usual 25-36 mile out and back.
Weekends if I'm not racing at the track, I'll go for a long, slow ride with my wife. (somewhere around 65-70 miles)
I don't really keep track of my road miles, just as the weather gets nicer I ride further.

Edit: ... if I include every separate logged "ride", my average distance in April is 29.35 miles per "ride"

Meaningless or not, I like keeping track of averages. Distance, mph, time, so I can see how they trend over the season.
Yeah, it's pure 41 for sure, but who cares.
If I were doing a 2 hour ride to work and 5 minutes home, I would combine both into a single ride. That or not even bother keeping track of the 5 minutes home.
My average ride this year is 42.66 miles.

And what makes you think you're the arbitrator of what is and what isn't "meaningful?"

But what does it tell you? What is the point of asking for information if the information has no meaning attached to it?

I like seeing how I measure up to others in terms of the distances others average.
The same way everyone wants to see how they measure up to others in terms of total miles at the end of each season.

Your angst is an overall theme from most of your posts trying to shoot down someone's idea or story.

He wasn't always this way..... The angst seems to be in direct correlation to his upgrade points.

I'm around 25-30.
I didn't bother with a spreadsheet or calculations. I know about what I can do in the time I have afterwork. saturdays are bigger rides, but they are one ride a week--so I discounted them.
I found this to be interesting. Not in a "the world will stop revolving because of this information" type of way, but more of a "real world what people on this forum are doing". You would think from most posts here that people on here ride 6 hours each day, all up hill, at maximum power, maintaining a 200 rpm cadence while training for some event that never seems to occur.

eh, bikewire.net where I have my logs doesn't do avg distance. I'd probably be depressed if it did. I'm depressed enough just looking at my total miles for the year so far. I did nearly 1/4th of my year's miles in one week last month if that says anything about who little I've managed to get on the bike.
