New sub-$1300 wheelset?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

that is the stock wheelset for the bike the OP mentioned. Canyon says the rims are 35mm deep carbon.

Yeah, 50s seem to be the sweet spot. My 50s don't suffer too bad in crosswinds, although I do feel them when bombing off a mountain pass at 50+mph. Even though they aren't uber deep wheels and my Canyon Ultimate isn't an aero bike, this set up feels very fast, even on less mountainous terrain.

Over forty MPH the 60s get squirrelly, and as you know have put me into resonance. As a result, I either swap out the front wheel for a 30 (Non-Hunt) when I know there is a fast descent or ride the Orbea with alloy rims. That bike is rock steady at speed. Would like to just buy a 50 or 40 front rim from Hunt to go with the 60 in back, but then I have heard that it’s the front wheel/tire that provides the most aero benefit.

BTLOS wheels usually cost around $800 with a free shipping code. I buy 25mm internal width hookless rims that require no rim tape. Any rim profile you want.

https://btlos.com

I have a couple of sets of their rims and am impressed with them. No experience with their hubs or wheel builds. Their shipping time is a few weeks (2-5 depending on the item). I think the free shipping code is done for this year (message said it was expired a week or so ago when I tried to buy another set of rims), but shipping from China appears to be ~$75, so still a great deal.

Not to thead crap but:
Interesting thread but as a C&V guy the thread title I find lol. I could find a nice classic Paramount (or 2) for that.
Enjoy; I'll go back to C&V now.
