All this talk of wheels. I have only two bikes with extra wheelsets, and for one of them, the two are almost indistinguishable, even though they're from different manufacturers.

Hey, motor heads: For reasons not worth going into, the coolant in my boat diesel was essentially replaced with Chesapeake Bay and left for a week to steep. Today, I flushed the system with tap water until it drained clean and everything visible looks okay. I have some work to do to fix the underlying problem, but what, if anything, else should I do before refilling with coolant? Flush with distilled water? Radiator flush stuff? Put some coolant through and discard?

Made the mistake of listening to some Limp Bizcuit the other day. Back in my dumb uninformed years I thought I liked them. I was mistaken, strangely enough he collaborated with method man from Wu tang. That song is actually okay.

Obvious heat exchanger issue, but due either to a clogged exhaust elbow or a failure of one of the rubber end caps. I took it apart today and the seawater port on the elbow looks fine and the hose clamps seemed secure on the end caps, although the tube stack wasn’t centered between them. I have new caps coming Monday, so maybe I’ll put it together, run it with tap water and see if it comes out. That or pay a pro to pressure test stuff. Got any ideas?

The TR6 has a non-functioning speedometer (but the odometer works), so I bought a used working unit of the Bay. I was going to change it out myself today because all of the forum posts I read talked about how easy it is. In concept, it is, but once I tried to get my hand up to it behind the dash, and then seeing what is back there, I quickly figured that my best course of action is to make a phone call.

I did a 75 mile club ride today. Haven't done anything like that in a while. Did better than I thought I would but in the middle they had to wait for me on the climbs. I wasn't too annoying, though. I made them work a little on the flats, at least I told myself they were working. Plus, another guy had his cleat screws fall out early. They managed to get it reattached and he stayed on the ride. Couple guys split and went home. Later, one of the women got a flat and her spare tube was also flat. After a while someone donated a tube and we got going. On the last climb another women got a flat and her spare tube had a too short stem to inflate. Someone donated a tube to her and she donated her tube to me, since I have old school wheels. She got a new bike with deep section wheels and she never updated her spare.
After that we started the descent and a bee flew into my helmet vent and stung me on the scalp. The stinger was still in there when I got home and Mrs J pulled it out.
Perfect weather and a good group. Glad I went.
