Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So something unrelated to the crash but related to the emonda. When I installed the hunt wheels I noticed the rear wheel had play. I took it for a test ride, the play went away. The next day (day of crash) the play was back that morning. Boom, crash happened. Took it to the shop, checked the wheel and no play. The insanity has continued. This morning before my ride play, when I got back I emailed hunt. They told me to take the wheel off and tighten the cones. I got to take the wheel of an no play.
I have some disc wheels where the plastic axle sleeves tend to unscrew a fraction of a turn and cause play. I could see that coming and going with wheel removal and replacement.

Might be catastrophic if it buckles into the spokes

The way to check the dish is to put the wheel in backward. Is it still centered?

tape a baseball card so it just clears the spokes. That way if it moves, you’ll be nostalgic right before you die.

It's an overpriced service which is allowed to raise it's prices on a whim. Also allowed to provide sub-standard service with impunity. And toy with your emotions.
