Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My first car was an '87 'Lude. Not new. This was about 2003. 5 speed with 3 functional gears.

Memories. I also remember when I didn't get dropped almost immediately in fast races like I did today. Maybe I'll start taking cycling seriously again.

Speaking of repairs, they just repaved Route 842 between West Chester and Unionville, so today's midweek club ride will include that section both out and back. It's a busy enough road that it's asphalt and not chipseal, but low enough traffic to be safe for riding.

Report to follow.

Hamer time! Time to watt up.

Now, add just a touch of moisture to achieve a surface state of SSD* and you guys will be flying.

I get bonehead of the day award I was browsing through pictures on my phone and found this picture of my bike before I changed my crankset 2 years ago. If you look closely, you can see the HollowTech name on the crank. I think I took this picture after a sloppy ride since the bike is filthy even for my low standards.

Ugh, Photobucket fail.

I now have the photobucket speedometer for my pictures - only two so not a big deal but I can't imagine how pissed someone would feel if they had hundreds posted that are now worthless. BTW, I never was notified that the change was coming. I just signed up for it about a month ago.

You haven't lived until you've worked on a dual carb'd mid 80's Honda Prelude.

Worse. Picture those two carbs with 30 vacuum lines apiece coming out of them.
