Right and Left Hip Replacement surgery

Yesterday I had my right hip replaced - Wow! today my right thigh mussel feels like a MAC truck ran over it! My second is scheduled for late November. As a result I cannot drive a car for two weeks let alone - ride a bike! Minnesota weather during this time of year is mostly pleasant with leaves to be changing color soon.
Looking forward to getting on one of my bikes soon -
My deepest sympathy go to all those with ailing chronic pain. It is a B!+ch!
Just a tip I tried for dealing with such pain - you must try medicinal CBD I know to some it is radical or simply not legal in your state.
But the results are amazing!

Head up and walk fast, until you can ride again...

My wife (age 61) had one replaced at the end of December. She rides stronger than I do now.

Do the physical therapy and keep moving (thrombosis is always a concern). You will be fine in no time.

You might consider a step-through e-bike for recovery.

Ask your doctor or PT about using a stationary bike trainer.

I used one after hip surgery, and it helped me regain strength quickly. When I got back on the road again, I felt surprisingly strong.

Great Idea ! In fact I have access to an old Schwine Gold color boat anchor type thing with the super wide Schwinn seat. Yeah I should do that.
Cannot hurt if the PT approves it's use.

Thanks Man!

Good luck on the recovery and the second surgery.

I first experienced hip pain this past summer. I decided to win the corporate walking challenge, averaging over 20k steps a day for a month. This put my retirement intentions to through hike the PCT in jeopardy.

Say more about CBD. I have a half dozen dispensaries within a mile of home.

Immediately following my hip replacement…immediate, like the next day…I noticed some seemingly odd, unrelated injuries on the same leg. I looked into it a bit more…contacted the surgeon…and discovered that it’s somewhat expected, and why it happens. I’ll explain more, and provide some links if you want. But since you have the 2nd hip surgery pending (as others viewing may too)…I don’t want to scare you, or others.

All my symptoms today were expected and already explained to us prior to robotic guided surgery.
Not worried in the least as the Doctor performing the procedure is the best. Super supportive bride, just getting all the routine going for PT also.

Yeah, it isn't a delicate procedure.
