Chain keeps slipping

Hello! I had my bike taken to a shop 3 times so far, and no one was able to fix my chain slipping problem yay. I wasted money on a new cassette and stuff, maybe $150 out the door so far.

So, my 2 highest gears (when going uphill, those gears), are slipping really bad. It's not coming off the chain, I think it's having problems staying on the chain, but it'll slip back onto the smaller gears. Another thing I'll notice is, if ti doesn't slip and it's close to the 2 largest gears while going uphill, it'll start to make a "tick tick tick tick" sound.

So we put a new cassette on, had it adjusted 3 times by two different shops, and still not fixed

What do ya'll think is going wrong here before I take it back to another shop?

I would ask the moderators to move this to the Bicycle Mechanics sub-forum but would be curious what set up you have? You have said you have had problems and some how two shops couldn't fix it but what is it you have that cannot be fixed. We cannot really guess on that topic. Assuming the chain and cassette are new and everything has been properly adjusted and the derailleur hanger has been straightened or replaced and straightened by a qualified mechanic and the derailleur cage is not bent or damaged and you have the correct parts for what you are running and you are not shifting while going up hill it would be an odd thing but methinks that one of those factors has been missed.

Wholly possible, Hope makes great products but if you don't service them occasionally they can have problems. No product exists on the market that is 100% maintenance free the closest thing is a Gates Belt Drive and those can still need some maintenance and replacement over time. Things do wear things shift position..so maintenance is needed once and while.

Even on a 15k full suspension mountain bike with the absolute top of the top end parts need maintenance regularly and it is not a sign that it is crap it is a sign of being a normal mechanical part and everything that is used needs to be serviced.

Hope should provide instructions on their website or you can reach out to them and get help or your local bike shop can help with that quite easily.
