HELP 2016 Kona Jake the Snake
Hello Everyone!
I recently acquired a 2016 Jake the Snake frame, with no components. I need to know what shifters and derailleurs I need for this build, and what size tires it will accept. and what OEM wheelset came with it including the rear cogset, either a freewheel or cassette.thanks, everyone for your input.

Build it how you want to build it! Essentially if you have a bare frame you could build it how you wanted it. You will want to take measurements and confirm things but you could do 9,10,11 or even 12 speed potentially or if you had some lower end stuff you could do that as well. You could probably fit a 38 but you will have to measure as the JtS was a cross bike so they come generally with 33 max tires but UCI cross rules are 33 max. Wheels might be QR but could be thru-axle at that point (maybe at least on the front and rear is QR) but double check and measure everything. If you are trying to build a shot for shot remake of the original bike you could do that but there is no need it is not a rare or exceptionally valuable bike, it is a good bike and well regarded but it is nothing super special where restoring it to factory makes it worth something more so do what works best for you.
If you need help certainly let us know what you plan on doing with it, what your budget might be (ish) and what sort of set up you want with bars and stem and such. You could easily build that as a rad alt-bar adventure bike or a cool CX or Gravel bike or a solid road commuter or something else entirely.
