Anyways, its just some CGI created graphics of outerspace swirling around. Nothing of substance, even though it says their biggest launch ever is on 6/27.
They could at least announce what time their biggest launch ever will take place so, you know, people can actually know when the launch is happening.

Still holding out hope they announce they will move all aluminum frames to the Klein brand with paint schemes that call back to 90s Kleins, and multiple groupset options from Claris up to Ultegra.

Who knew the OP was a Sci-Fi fan? The movie is most likely more exciting than the big announcement.

But just the frameset alone for an SLR 9 Gen 8 is $6000, so this must be a different bike. No issues w/ their pricing structure, but if you can find me an SLR 9 Gen 8 for $3500 I'd be interested in taking a look a it.

One example is not representative of all bikes. That said, it largely depends on your preferred aesthetic. If your preference is for C&V, anything new will be "ugly".

I've seen enough modern bikes to be comfortable with my pronouncement.

I'm aware enough about your aesthetic perspective to know that we have significantly different opinions on this topic. That said, I'm not a big fan of the aesthetics of the Madone, especially dressed in the current Lidl-Trek paintjob. Others, however, might be quite excited by it, and that's just fine.

It’s an odd looking bike for sure, but probably quite comfortable for an aero race bike.

I don't doubt that it's an excellent race bike. It's just not one I would consider for myself, even if I could afford it.

So what's Mr. Deason's opinion? Is this really Trek's "biggest launch ever?"

Me neither. Trek pricing is uncompetitive over here in the UK and I’m not a big fan of their “in-yer-face” branding. There are enough great bikes in the market to get fussy about stuff that doesn’t affect the ride. Of the big mainstream brands, Trek is my least favourite. Only a smoking good deal would tempt me if I was in the market for a new race bike and honestly I would probably be looking more at the Domane anyway ie endurance bikes.

Oddly, I find myself really attracted to some of Treks MTBs (I have a Procaliber), and the Checkpoint gravel bike, but the Madone doesn't move me. From the Trek road lineup, my pick would be the Emonda (RIP). However, I'm even less attracted to Specialized and Cannondale, overall. All of their top bikes are fantastic, no doubt. They just don't excite me.

I find this colorway much more pleasing.

I’m the opposite, I quite like Cannondale and Specialized (both road and mtb) but not for any rational or logical reason! But I’m all in with Canyon at the moment, with an Endurace and Neuron CF. I like the modern Euro vibe and their pricing model!

There are a LOT of really good bikes out there and I don’t think there is much, if anything, between them.

LOL - Canyons don't excite me a lot, either. I will admit that part of it (for me) is how popular they are in my area.

You mean you'd give up one of your Huffys? You're correct that the bike I posted is 2 tiers lower in frame spec. Don't know that I'd be able to feel the difference, though.

I've seen several companies offer frames in different grades. The lightest ones are usually a lot more money than the base model.
