How hard would it have been to include a link to whatever this was about? Or even a "I saw this on the Trek homepage".

Definitely, much, much less effort than the numerous posts blaming other people for your nonsense and getting mad at people for not being able to read your mind.

Yea me bad. I figured this being an enthusiast forum and Trek being a big name someone would have picked this up long ago and the forum would have deduced what the launch was.

Coming from other enthusiast forums that's how it would have played out and if a link was posted there would have been endless posts about how the topic had been picked over many times and much tsk tsking and tusk tusking about rehashing the topic.

Bike enthusiasts are a different breed..

I'm still going with my prediction that they are going to announce Trek branded aero socks.

OP is right, we could have all ignored this thread and it would be gone by now

I suspect very few people in the general forum are spending every day looking at the Trek website.

It wouldn’t have been hard to mention Trek.

I suspect you haven’t learned anything.

No, he’d just continue to post other nonsense.

Keep in mind that it would have taken the OP a tiny amount of effort to “do it right” by adding some context.

It’s probably overly optimistic but there’s some chance feedback would correct this sort of thing.

Maybe “Big Bike” marketing is not that effective. If Trek do launch a major new bike then it will get discussed at some point. But I doubt that many people are desperately waiting for the launch. I did get an email from a local shop saying they already have 3 of these new bikes waiting in stock, but no detail of what they are.

Wonder, could trek be mashing up their gravel bike with their XC mountain bike so as to reduce the number of their SKUs?

I just looked at the Trek site the other day, Oh, wait, that was the "Vintage Trek" to see what a '78 I picked up was. My bad. FWIW it was a 19.75" TX500 by serial number.

Maybe you need to stop assuming, figuring and thinking since you seem to be universally wrong in every instance you try to do any of those.

No, bike enthusiasts are no different than other enthusiasts. I think it’s almost guaranteed that you would annoy enthusiasts of anything with the way you approach an online forum.

no. Major manufacturer announcement like that I would have only had to write the word collide before being chastised for dredging up an old topic.

We're using Tweels on much of the recently purchased equipment in our businesses

maybe tubes and tubeless collided and Michelin signed a deal with Trek.

What this all says to me is that apparently your other enthusiast forums are hyper plugged into meaningless and overhyped marketing.
And thats saying something, given how much bike enthusaiasts are swayed by meaningless and overhyped marketing.

When you think basically everyone else is wrong, that is when it's time to consider if you are wrong.

I think we can safely assume that everyone now knows its a Trek release. Time to move on. lol

Set your countdown timer to 51hrs and 56 min!

And before being accused of being a Trek shill, I just bought my daughter a Specialized Roubaix SL8 Sport Apex on smoking hot (I think) discount. Shes getting rid of her Trek FX for a drop bar.

Well ... I and others Are On Other Enthusiast Sites ... and surprise! no one there freaks out over marketing hype, either.

At most: "Did you see Canon plans a 'breakthrough' mirrorless body release next fall?"

"Yeah, I saw that too, It will be interesting to see what the 'breakthroughs' might be when it is officially announced ... in the fall."

And no one would say a word until it was due to drop.

I am betting on two models, Madona and A_Demon. Get both ends and the middle of the limited-letter-choice naming spectrum.

I don't care what bikes you buy. Shills don't Buy the stuff they shill, the get paid to tell Other people to buy the stuff. Shills get paid to Hype the stuff ... as you have been doing this whole thread.

Not sure why .... maybe you thought since no one else had posted this, you would be first and we would all respect you?

I truly do no, and truly do not want to understand.

I am still struggling the meaning of the word "bicycle" after Trek's Wavecel technology "changed cycling forever."

You say that like it's a bad thing. "There would have been this, there would have been that ...". An adult does not get excused because they did not do a minimal survey of the community they are joining to see how it works before they go on a posting spree. However, reading between the lines, it doesn't sound like you are understood any better on the car forums.

Here, I added two words that would have saved 6 pages of hair-pulling, foot-stomping and teeth-gnashing which continues well after it has been established the post referred to Trek

Has this TREK PROMO already been determined or is there some anticipation?

You would have avoided all your “hair-pulling, foot-stomping and teeth-gnashing” if you added this to the original post. Which remains unchanged.

For the love of god, get a clue! The issue is your original post had absolutely nothing in it that enabled anyone to know what the post was about. You posted a picture, on that had nothing describing how it even related to bicycles. That is what people are trying to get through your head. As it is, nothing is getting through your head, so I can safely assume a helmet would be pointless, nothing could penetrate it as it is.

By post 3 it was established that it was a Trek promo.

But valid point on the edit. Many forums don’t allow an edit after replies have been added. I see this one does so the edit has been made.

Your 6 pages of anguished critique have paid dividends
