Yep. Especially in somewhere like the Touring forum, where a response to a question about a route might generate a protracted discussion of specifics. Now, one has to check back to see if there has been a response.

Clearly, whomever is in charge of Forum software doesn't understand the lessons of Facebook and other social media about how to keep users engaged and returning to the site. Those little flags in the upper right, indicating you've got responses to your previous site activity, are powerful little mind-treats to the screen-addicted.

Quote and mention notifications are important features.
BF should revert to a version that still contains them, and begin to evaluate more considerate software vendors.
Maybe there aren't any...

Corporate is aware of the situation. They aren't going back to any older software. Continued griping isn't going to change anything.

Tech has now added a 'mentions' tab to your user profile. Mentions have always been around, but now they are neatly organized on your profile. There you can see who has 'mentioned' you and which thread you were 'mentioned' in.
To mention someone, use the @ symbol and their username. To find the mentions tab, click on your username at the top right corner, and in the drop down, click 'my profile'

Yes, the quoted post notifications are now gone. The site had an update this morning, and that particular feature was not updated alongside of it to make it compatible. There have already been talks of bringing it back as other communities also enjoy those notifications. So for now, the quoted post notifications are gone, but there is hope they will return at some point.
To make sure the person you are replying to gets notified, make sure to 'like' their post.
