Always grateful to post this thread
Have not ridden the Batavus for a while. Instead of indexed, my brifters are leaning toward analog. The short toptube and tall headtube shorten the cockpit, even with saddle pushed back and 13cm stem, making the drops more attractive. Arms down versus arms out = both work. A candidate next N—.
Squak. What a nice day to ride. About 70*f
Fall on the roadside? 1st day of Autumn but almost still Summer temps - least the next couple of days.
Nice fellow owns the place.
A few cars but no big truckers.

Back out on the Paramount this morning. Today I mostly did a serious ride with only a few stops taking pictures. It always takes me two or three miles each ride to get the one knee going but once I did I ran at a good pace. Only slowed down around the last 5 miles when I went up into the Middle Inlet area to enjoy the quiet. In the 19-22 mph range the bike felt pretty effortless. But at higher speeds it seemed to take a lot of work to hold a 24 mph pace and it felt like something was holding me back…
But you lost me at the ‘24mph pace’ part.
Age and reality hold me back, I guess.
