Do you need to size down on the 728’s?
one I’m looking at the owner said it’s 21.5” top tube c-c, and 21” seat tube (not specified if c-c or ctt). Said stand over is 30.5”
For reference I typically fit 54-55cm in a classic Italian steel frame road bike. 5’9” with longer torso and shorter inseam.

Interesting transformation ..... I have an all original 728 that's been hanging for most of it's life .... other than the bar tape it's all original. I came here asking about new tires back in 2016 and having some difficulty finding easy replacement hung it up again ..

If you have 27" rims- get some 27 x 1 1/4" Panaracer Pacelas or some Sand Canyon 27 x 1 3/8" tires or 27 x 1/8" if you're using fender. If you have 700C- there's dozens of choices of tires- get 700c x 32 with fenders, or 35 without.
