Fausto Coppi Reparto Corse (1989?)
Hi, I am looking for a valuation of my Fausto Coppi steel road bike. I am not the original owner so the information I have available is limited.
The previous owner said that this is from around 1989/1990. I am not sure whether it oroginally had downtube shifters which have been upgraded to handlebar shifters.
Campagnolo mirage groupset, 9 speed rear derailleur and 42-52 teeth front derailleur.
Reparto Corse stickers but I can't find much online about this. Engraved on the bottom but I haven't removed the cable guide to see who it was but by.
Very minor paint chips in places but no corrosion as always stored indoors.
I have only replaced the chain, break pads, and cassette since I got this bike, but I kept the original cassette.
Let me know if there's any other information you need and I can tey and provide. Unable to attach an image but I'll try and post it in the comments or I'll remove this thread if I'm unable to due to being a new member. Thanks

as you likely quickly learned from any research you may have done the cycle was a product of Maschiaghi
they have the rights to the Fausto Coppi marque whilst Fiorelli has the Coppi marque

Im a fellow owner of a Coppi Reparto Corse. That frame was made in a variety of tube sets. I've seen Columbus Thron OS and Neuron. Pretty sure there frames out there in SL as well. I bought my frame set for 250USD NOS (Thron); and I overpaid. With the market being what it is the frame set alone would probably bring more than the full bike with Mirage components. Right now there is a guy selling one in FRG for 529. (https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzei...23099-217-5385) But he has no buyers so far and his rig is Neuron tubing which is the most desirable of all tube set options. I'd say 200 USD if it's Thron, 250-300 if it's Neuron, 200-250 if it's SL. Btw. I am not the owner of the bike in the link and for what it's worth: I think it's overpriced.

I think the reparto made by Luigi Pelizzoli in Thron is one of the most underrated bikes in the cv realm. I think the tubing is underrated, I think the craftsmanship is underrated, and I think the fact that your bike is marketed under an almost criminally mismanaged brand further diminishes the value. (I'm biased here as I'm a working class kid and have lived in Liguria for a while and, therefore, am a lifelong Coppiano. I digress: it doesnt help that your frame has issues with chipped paint, rust on the chrome parts, a low level and undesirable Campagnolo group, an outdated chainring combination, only 8 speed drivetrain which causes all kinds of problems when you want to update the rig, and, lastly, the gap between the bb shell and the frame on the non drive side (which probably led to major corrosion). In its current state this is a bike for a college kid who wants to bop around the campus..sorry for the bad news.

^ Interesting perspective from northwest Italy. Stateside, I’m a bit more optimistic about this bike but only a bit. I think it has more C&V appeal than being relegated to a campus curb hopper.
As a buyer, I see a brand that is rather scarce in these parts and a project that should clean up really nice. Mid-level tubing that I wish was higher quality but should also keep the price in check. Low level components that I would probably sell off and replace with a higher grade Campy or even Shimano offering. Complete overhaul would be part of the plan. I’d want to get it under $250 knowing that I would be putting money into it.
As a seller, $200-$250 as is. +$100 all cleaned up and ready to ride with the faster-than-it-should-be B group.
