Who supplies 50mm stems for 1 1/4" steerer?

I just purchased a new Grizl 7 from Canyon. It came with a 70mm riser and I want a 50mm to get a better form fit. Canyon puts 1 1/4" steering tubes in the Grizl. I asked them if they would let me exchange the 70mm for a 50mm and they refused to accomodate me. I'm having difficulty finding a 50mm with a 1 1/4" steering tube clamp. My last choice would be to purchase one from Canyon, but I'm not too exited about their customer relations and their stems (with outrageous shipping) are overpriced.

^ That is why I warn people about buying Canyon, as a Canyon owner.

EBay is the easiest option. Usually can find some Giant or Kalloy stems. They might not be the same height as the Canyon stem, so you might need a spacer kit with various height spacers too.

Thanks. I'll check them out. Yes, I am disappointed in Canyon. Most other dealers will work with you on a new bike buy to make sure your happy. After all, exchanging stems wouldn't have cost them a damn thing. Oh well. Live and learn.

This is one huge difference between an actual dealer and a direct to consumer brand.

Any time you do anything extra it costs money. Look at it from their perspective, we sell bikes based on value and relative price v traditional channel brands, that's what drives sales. Folks buy the bike based on that, and buy or not buy any additional items (including said stem in this case). So there is no value added to them in providing this service. I'm sure (the cake and eat it too) folks would argue that it is costing them sales, but when you crunch the numbers, not really.
