It doesn't happen to me often, but sometimes when I'm cycling people and cars just roll their windows down and scream at me for no reason. Does this happen to anyone else here?

Actually, they do scream at you for good reason.

They're the exit point of the human digestive system. (Is this okay, censors?)

When I get yelled at, it usually sounds to me like they're hollering, "I'm so stu - u - u - u - pid!" So I smile and wave, thinking, "Yes, you are."

Has anyone had yelled at you while cycling? Does a bear sh*t in the woods

It happens to any cyclist that cycle on the roadways. However, it doesn't seem to happen to me as much as it use to years ago. Maybe, because so many people recognize me in this area where I live. People come up to me (out of nowhere) and ask questions, like..."how far do you ride a day?"

When I lived in Florida They yelled, threw beer bottles, threw golf balls and they were just down right despicable. My standard reply was the Hawaiian peace sign.

very occasionally - sometimes a yell, sometimes a blaring horn, a projectile, on one memorable occasion a guy fired a pistol (couldn’t tell if handgun or starter pistol) into the ground as he passed the group. My usual response is a loud « Hi!!! » and a wave. I gave up flipping such people off years ago - made me feel better momentarily but risked escalating

Yes, of course. I actually enjoy it on some level when exercising my right to cycle in the road slows down some jerk's trip to the next red light by 3 seconds.

Got yelled at by some roadies on a bike path in Conn. a few weeks ago. I was pulling 3 other riders, moved left to drift to the back, when 2 roadies going much faster than appropriate for a MUP wanted to pass, when I did not hear them saying “passing” much less moving out of their way, they then had to actually slam on the brakes and then really shout. I’m reasonably hard of hearing, is why I hear them., I did hear one of my buddies tell me to move over. I had some choice words for the roadie *******s. 22-25 or so in a MUP is going to get you into trouble.

Rarely
Generally stupid people demonstrating their stupidity...I usually ignore them though sometimes I signal to them they are number one.
Ignoring them is usually the best way to handle them.

Once in a while I hear someone yell but I can seldom hear what they're saying so I assume it's something positive.

Some years back I did have someone yell "get on the sidewalk." I assumed he was making a joke as the nearest sidewalk is 10 miles away.

A few years ago a young woman in a car hollered out that she liked my jersey. I do too, as it's colorful. And going up Mt Blue Sky, which at the time was Mt Evans, I had at least one car pass me that rolled down the window and cheered me on with screams of encouragement.

But I guess you are wanting to know about angry screams, and sure once twice as many years ago there was someone that rolled down their window and let out a tirade. But it was directed at the group in front of me and probably shouldn't count. So for the more recent times, I'm 2 and 0. Good to bad. I'm sure in the distant past, that there have been a few other screams. But I don't think there were many. And those too were a combination of good and bad.

It's happened probably a hundred times in my decades of riding, but a standout one was a ten-year-old overweight boy leaning out the window and calling me fat while his fat mother laughed. Then they pulled into their dead-end road in front of me.

Not often, but it happens every once in a while. What is funny is that large majority of those instances happened on a section of Eurovelo (European long-distance cycling route network) with many signs warning other traffic that there are cyclists on the road. One of them even waited for me further down the road to repeat his threat of running me over if I didn't get off the road because it's for cars only.

SWEET! This gives motorists and passengers adequate time to LOAD UP with beer bottles, peanut M&Ms, Big Gulp cups of ice, toy train locomotive, old shoes, pet toys, fast food wrappers, curling irons, fireworks, and anything else lying around on the floorboards or in a purse. (Actual list of things thrown at me).

Just YELLING at me!? What an underachieving loser!

Once, but it was memorable. I was riding in the bike lane, minding my own business, when an SUV pulled up and the 20-something male passenger leaned out and screamed bloody murder right next to my head then drove off, laughing hysterically. I jumped about a foot, but somehow managed to keep it internal, and didn't give them the satisfaction of... what, crashing? Getting hurt? Years later, and I'm still not clear about what their goal was.

Another time I was riding on a different road, and another SUV pulled up alongside and the again 20-something male passenger made gun fingers at me and a quiet 'pshew' sound and drove off.

One of the disadvantages of living in a rural university town, I guess.

Its hard to understand what people say when they're flying by, but it sounds like they think I have a great ass. At least I think that's what they're saying, so I smile, wave, and yell "thanks!"

It's been pretty rare for me ever since I started using cameras. When it does happen I point to said device and ask them to repeat their statement more loudly.
