Sorry to hear that guys.
Solid weekend for me.
Woke up with 4 hours on tap yesterday morning but weather sucked so I went and bear the life out of my legs at the gym. Got home and figured why not so went out for about 2 hours with a z3.8 average which felt good. Weather sucked the whole ride, cold, windy and misty rain.
Went to the fun this morning and killed my send, came home, ate and headed out with a couple if buddies, one was going for a strava record. At one point while cruising along my buddy leans over and asks what my.heart rate was, I answer, 128, he says holy crap, of course I have to ask what his was, 170 something. I said mine might be low for one of two reasons, either I am tired or getting into shape. He bursts out laughing and says its number two.
A little later on I dropped back to blow snot rockets and my other buddy says get back up there you don't need to recover. After pulling for about 20 miles they wanted me to make a run at the strava time but it was into a headwind after a literal 20 mile pull so I guess we will find out tomorrow. I did redline for most if the climb which was good.

also very depressing to hear about the UF student. I'm almost 26 and I feel like i'm barely getting started.

Sorry to hear and read about that kensuf and veloboy. My condolences.
Just got back from 6 weeks overseas where hiking, working, and sightseeing were the main activities. Got out two times this week for Z2ish spins, 20 miles on Friday and 34 miles today. No computer, no HRM, no powermeter...just enjoying riding on the new bike for the first time since the 4-fracture crash 2.5 months ago. No problems to report, although I've been advised that with a pelvis fracture in two places, I need to basically ride easy for the rest of the year to give it time to fully heal, and not put too much stress on it and screw things up more than they are already.

Glad to hear you're progressing Mark!
Thanks guys, but honestly I only met him 2 or 3 times. VB probably knew him better though. I feel very sorry for his family though.

got a vicodin scrip to help sleep last night and definitely slept better than sunday night, which was real rough.
so i set my cross bike up to mirror the fit on my now dead road bike and did a fairly easy commute yesterday just to keep my legs spinning post accident.
after last june's accident i think i made the mistake of waiting too long to get back on the bike and i never really got my groove back, so i wanted to avoid that this time by riding, even if easy, as soon as possible.
also, as mentioned inthe race thread, while ugly and painful, most of my injuries this time were superficial enough that i felt up to riding the next day.
this morning i rode my TT bike in and crushed my previous TT commute PR by a good 25 seconds.
so i think i'm gonna be ok. looks like theres a pretty generous crash replacement deal available to the team via our shop. no details yet but it sounds promising, at very least. should be able to train on the TT and the CX bike for a few weeks in the meantime.

Today and tomorrow off - I usually don't like recovery weeks but when I have a lot going on (ie. the end of the year) I really enjoy them as its one less thing to cram into my day.
Training status: thinking of getting on the trainer tonight.
I had that same thing after my car v. bike accident in 2010.
Dunno what it was, but it went away eventually.. so lemme know wtf that's all about!
Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me with a question. I crashed and hit my thigh pretty hard last weekend and it bruised and swelled up pretty good. Now, the bruise is almost gone, but the patch of thigh that got hit the worst doesn't seem to be responsive. If I flex my quad, there's a patch of skin and muscle that doesn't flex, it's just feels... flabby, like a dent or hole in my muscle. Anybody have an idea what this is? It's not painful at all.

wanted to do over under FTP, but instead was greeted with seized up quads. Looking at the data, it looks as if my HR really had trouble climbing.
I had really wanted to do one hard workout this week for what's likely my last race of the season, but instead i'll just ride tempo tomorrow and Thursday and hope that my legs return on Saturday.

Peak, or 5-sec?
Either way, well done.

My trainer told me it's a hematoma. It should be fine in another week hopefully, but it's nothing serious, just weird.

Looking back it was pure luck that I didn't flat or that someone didn't go down in front of me.

804kj and 91tss in 60 min, which was a pretty fair effort for a post dinner ride around.
